Yes it does help when they're giving you like a shot it helps calm the nerves. But be careful because some people have anxiety attacks from laughing gas.

It makes you not care as much. It helps relax you and therefore makes you less tense and ready to react. It is not like anesthetic in the injections that numb the area, so yes some pain can be felt.
If it is turned up to high, yes it can make you miserable. Some people do not like the feeling of not being in control. You'll just have to try it for yourself.

it just makes u feel like u don't care what they do. they use that so u won't make a big fuss about what they r about to do. it doesn't take the pain away and it does help. Novocaine numbs your mouth so u can't really feel them getting rid of a cavity. the Novocaine is in the shots they give u in your gums.

Go for the gas, it was wondeful. I was all sick feeling before I went in and within moments, i was all "who cares" so it really takes the edge off. It will not block pain, however, that's what the shots are for. but like I said, you'll be all "shot? Who cares?"

It is wonderful, they could remove your nose and you wouldn't care. I think it should be piped into every home for those real hard painful days.

Nitrous oxide can help some people, but it made me really sick. It was such a miserable experience that it helped keep me from ever trying drugs. :)
