Excuse me I don't believe you ARE the perfect example of a Christian. Jesus tells us not to let the left hand know what the right hand is doing!!!! Then you make the decision to Bash fellow Christians because you made the decision to help a nice lady across the street??? I happen to be bed-ridden so tell me, as a Brother in Christ what would you have done for me today?
Reading the Bible is a Wonderful thing to be doing, I encourage more of it....And if YOU look bad it is your by your OWN doing not that of others.....That would be called a Hypocrite....
Now I didn't talk I wrote and I hope you realise that you have been BLESSED to be able to get out there and Physically Help others...However as the Word says, You have ALREADY recieved your reward....That is kinda sad....

It's not up to you to judge people. You are not perfect...no one is except for God. I suggest you leave Judgement to someone who is FAR more capable than you will ever be. besides, helping a woman across the street isn't going to get you into Heaven. it's what's in your Heart. and believe me, you can't fool God. We should help people, but the best way to help is to tell people about God...and you aren't exactly doing a good job of it, because what your post is telling people (particularly Atheists) is that Christians aren't any better than the rest of the world. you are giving off a totally different vibe than what God wants us to be. We are supposed to be 'role models' so to speak, and Lead them to God, letting them know how much better a person he has made us. not turn them away...which is what you are doing. read your post....does that sound Christian to you?

Ok, I get your point, and it is a good one. Its nice that you helped someone, but helping someone is not the only basis of being a Christian. You're helping her across the street, all the while thinking "I made it possible for her not to fall" instead of thanking God that he made it possible for you to help her. If you don't understand that, then pick up a Bible and start reading, go to church!

Christian avoid the kind of prideful bragging you exhibit. Jesus said, "Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full." Mt 6:1,2

I helped a family in need of clothing and food since they have had a major fire that swept through their home. I watched her kids as well while she went out trying to recover some of their things that are salvageable. I don't go looking for praise, but since you asked I'm glad to say that I do my part as well.

Real do gooders never even think for a moment that he should advertise his kindness. You said, GOD IS LOVE but the way you said it, seems you are trying to block Gods' eyes to see what others are doing. Atheists will not even bother to look at you.

The Bible says good deeds are to go unannounced.
That way you can't brag about how good you think you've been.
The glory should go to God--not you.
You should be thanking God that you have legs to walk instead of bragging of your good deed.

I got up and cooked my husband breakfast and made his lunch, then I took my almost blind daughter to the eye doctor and went to exchange a movie for my step dad who is suffering severe pain in his back.

Actually, this atheist cannot stomach people who blow their own horns. So what, you helped an old lady. Good for you. You need to tell the world about that? SHAME.
I do beleive that even your own God has a problem with PRIDE, doesnt he?
