I left the cathlotic religion because i could not find proof in the bible that proves most of their church dogma...now if you ask them for proof they refuse to provide scriptures that prove what they say.....Like how Peter became the first pope when he preached to the jews in jersulaem

That is TRUE, they wil argue, but cannot prove. THat is the reason MARTIN lUTHER protested bcause of their false doctrines, which can even cause people to even go to hell. At that time they were even selling indulgences in order for people to receive salvation. John 15 disprove indulgences, Jesus said I am the way, no one come to the fahter except by Me. My parents were catholic but they also left because of same reason, they have false doctrine that are not found in the Bible, but they want accept it when you tell them it is not in scriptures. Jesus even warned us to watch for false prophets who are not truly teaching the the word of God. I know that for fact and my parents were catholic, they would have people go confess in front of the priest, this not found in the Bible. Jesus died to save humanity and give everyone the priviledge to approach God, we don't need a priest. In Roman 10:9-10 says "That if thous shalt confess with THY MOUTH the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart tht God hath raised him fom the dead, thou shalt be savd. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with THE MOUTH CONFESSION is made unto SALVATION. This proves that you do not need a priest.

i heard someone say the mass isn't biblical, for the scriptural basis and truth of the mass try the free study course at www.salvationhistory.com track one and the second course. locate the writings of the early church fathers aswell. all the church professes is scriptural. all the feel good emotions other christian churches offer to converts etc is all well and good, but if you know what being catholic is all about you get the same emotions, perfect worship and whats more you get the fullness of truth.

please enlighten us all to where in the bible we are told that the bible is our sole source of authority? where are we told once saved always saved or even by faith alone? what and when are there origins?

My faith was deader than Moses when my husband and I were in the Catholic Church.

Then we were saved by the grace of God, lifting us up from darkness, when we had a chance encounter with the Holy Ghost in an *true* Apostolic-Pentecostal church. The veil was rent and we were in the throne room, where God revealed to us the truth of Jesus.

Now we live for Christ, by the Word of God, prayer and fasting in the Holy Ghost. Worshipping God to the fullest potential He originally designed us for. No more bondage to false doctrine, dogma, rituals, symbolism, obedience to manmade system of religious idolatry and rehearsed, non-demonstrable worship. We were set free from false teachers and prophets leading us farther away from Jesus.

Among other false Catholic dogma that needs *real* spiritual discernment, Simon Peter of the Bible is NOT the same as the first Catholic "pope" Simon Magnus.

I am so thankful to God for guiding us to the right "off ramp" so that we could exit the road of apostasy.

Praise God, for He is worthy!

Christians and Catholics don't even realize where some of their beliefs come from...

Look into Dante's Inferno and Milton's Paradise Lost for two good examples. These are not part of the Bible regardless of how much you twist the words around.

Sad to see that Michelle R is so deluded. Peter WAS NOT "the first pope" and the passage she MISINTERPRETS / MISQUOTES makes it relatively obvious that the "pope" interpretation is invalid...

Matthew 16:13 Jesus went to the area of Caesarea Philippi. There he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist. Others say Elijah. Still others say Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.”
15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ. You are the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah! No mere man showed this to you. My Father in heaven showed it to you.
18 Here is what I tell you. You are Peter. On this rock I will build my church. The gates of hell will not be strong enough to destroy it.
19 I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. What you lock on earth will be locked in heaven. What you unlock on earth will be unlocked in heaven.”

-- From the original Greek of the text we see "you are 'petros' which means 'a pebble' but on the 'petra' or bolder / bedrock OF YOUR CONFESSION I will build my church..."

That is because the majority of what the catholics believe is not in the bible. From mass to confession to the popes, its all part of CHURCH doctrine, not actually in the bible and they cant back it up. This is what happens when you give a man (the pope) the authority of a god.

Because its not in the scriptures. I hate to say it but the Bible clearly states that there is only one way to enter the Kingdom of Heaven and that is through Jesus Christ. Praying to Mary is not going to give them salvation. And without salvation they will not enter the Kingdom. They will die eternally lost. The fact that they confess to a priest, that isn't in the Bible. The Bible states that we are to seek God for all repentence and to confess only to him. NOT MAN, NOT MARY the mortal mother of Jesus but to him only. This is putting man before God.There is no such place as purgatory. When you die you go to Heaven or Hell. NOT purgatory. We should all pray for our Catholic friends, that their eyes will be opened to the truth, so that they won't die eternally lost.

In the scriptures it says that God's true church will have prophets and apostles. The only church that has those is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

because purgatory is not in the Bible. does it make sense that when you die you go to some holding tank and then your family/friends pray you into Heaven? in other words, live like the devil your whole life and when it's over you'll get a free pass. think again.
