I think it's more like speaking a different language or maybe just speaking with a very heavy accent. You don't know whether you should be trying to parse the words (maybe it's a different langauge and you just *can't* parse the words) or not. Sometimes people appreciate it when you point out that their salvation is pretty much the same as release or nirvana in this other religion - and frequently they do not. Translating and transliterating between religious vernaculars is a thankless task.
Americans think everybody knows or wants to know English. French understand people have all kinds of different languages (but French is still best). Swiss know nobody speaks Romansch so they'll always have to learn somebody else's language. I prefer the Swiss approach.

Good analogy -- not perfect, but still good.
After all, the odds of coming out of a coma are significantly higher than a religious person learning to think, and more importantly, having the courage to abandon their imaginary friend.

You obviously know nothing about religion or you'd ask more intelligent questions. I talk to atheists everyday, no problems. Of course, I'm not talking about this section, mature atheists do not hang out in here, we only get the bashers and trolls, and they're obviously not worth paying any attention to.

Not really. People who believe are generally at ease with their belief system just as I am not believing. What is so bad about believing that you need to smash their lives and certainties? I will certainly not go out and try to destroy their beliefs or their life just to prove my point or deride them.
I will not admit either that believers try to convert me or promote rules for me based only on religion but that's another story.

No. I do not like to be caught up in religion. I follow Jesus. I will listen Him even if I was in coma. : )

Actually it's like being in a wonderful dream, and why are you so against religion??? So you choose to believe there is no God....ok thats you. If there isn't one then why are you so intent on proving it? We believe that faith matters in a persons life thats why it enflames our hearts. What enflames your heart??? and I'm sure you've heard it but it must be said again... If I believe and I'm wrong what does it hurt??? But if you DON'T believe and you are wrong its gonna hurt.... Praise the Lord that He has made Himself known to me.

Not really. If anything I would say that the atheist is closest to being coma-like. After all they are dead to God's offer of salvation and if they do not do something to correct that state they will die only to end up in what is sometimes called the second death...eternity in Hell.

No, rational thought can still come in a coma, though it is not externally expressed. Once people start believing in things with no evidence, nay, all credible evidence pointing against their authenticity, they turn their brain on auto-pilot, and thus, are clinically dead.
