Yeah that would be great! Maybe it will scare her so badly that she will be afraid of guns! Maybe she will even get injured! Then at least she will never consider reproducing with someone like yourself and save the world from the threat of you actually breeding.

I would definetly tell her what shes about to fire before she fires the magnum load, as when dealing with firearms, you must take precautions. but even besides that, I would hope that you actually teach her how to fire a gun first. If she has never even fired before I definitely wouldn't stick a magnum load in it without her knowing it. Also, I don't know if I any sort of trick like that on a girl if you really like her. maybe if it was a close freind or something, then it might be really funny, that is if they are accusotomed to shooting and experienced at if your looking to impress her then you should teach her, let be aware of the dangers involved and especially to take serious caution. show her your awesome shot, or how you can handle that recoil with ease. That might be "impress-worthy"

Having had that "STUNT" done to me I would not find it amusing. Fortunately I was familiar with proper/safe weapons handling before someone thought it would be funny to slip a few hot loads into my ammo. I was using a 12 Ga shotgun and was learning to shoot skeet for the first time. I was shooting regular store bought loads when all of a sudden I experience recoil from hell, and a bruised shoulder.
Turns out that I had been handed a few custom hot loads. After shooting two of them, my teacher stopped me and checked the rest of my ammo, as he could hear the difference in the reports. I did not find it amusing.
If you are going to teach her to shoot with your .357, then I would suggest using some light .38 Special loads for her to start with. After she gets adjusted to those, and seems comfortable handling the gun-SAFELY, let her pop off a few rounds of the .357 Mag just to see the difference. That way she is not surprised into not wanting to shoot anymore, or possibly hurting someone.
My wife shoots a .40S&W, and sometimes my .45 ACP. She does not like the recoil of the .45 but at least she knows what to expect when she pulls the trigger. I can't imagine seeing my very expensive Kimber flying out of her hands hitting the ground and possibly hurting someone due to a negligent discharge all for "just" a prank. Besides, if I pulled a stunt like you are implying, I don't think she would allow any guns in the house, let alone want to go shooting with me.
I started her on Wal-Mart special ammo, and have worked her up to my reasonably hot handloads, if she says they are too hot, I reduce them a little.
You may find it humorus, but your lady friend may not want anything to do with you after pulling a stunt like that. After all most women are already afraid of guns. Then you are back to square one, no lady friend, and shooting all by yourself.
Lord knows the last thing we need is another anti-gun person running around telling everyone that guns are bad because they had an idiot scare them of do something unsafe with a gun around them.
Please see the light before someone gets hurt. If you find that you think I am completely wrong, do the rest of us gun owners a favor, and sell you gun. You don't have any bussiness owning it if you don't think this is a serious issue.

Let me tell you about an idiot that actually did do this. His girlfriend was somewhat familiar with handguns, so was not afraid of them. She got interested in his Ruger Blackhawk, .44 mag., with the 7 1/2 inch barrel. She wanted to try shooting it.
He loaded five of the chambers with nice, soft .44 Special loads and the sixth with max loaded handload. The lady fired the five .44 spl. loads with no problem and was thinking the recoil of the .44 mag. was overrated. Then she touched of that sixth round. She was totally unprepared for the recoil, which whipped the barrel of the Ruger back into her face. Injuries consisted of a minor skull fracture, a broken nose, and a black eye that lasted for almost two weeks.
Not only did this fool end his romance with the lady, she sued him for several thousand dollars (and collected).
The only good trick with a gun is hitting itty bitty targets from a long way off.

it wouldn't impress her though, since its her first time, load up on the 38specials and teach her how to hit the targets, especially steel plates... this would impress her, for u are a good teacher! She might even be more interested in your other guns...
Impressing her is your main objective right? But, if you want her to hate guns, and hate you, if she knew it was a trick, then go right ahead with your plan.
Good Luck and safe shooting.

Tricks, impress and practical jokes do not belong on the firing range. If you want to alienate someone from shooting firearms and thereby having her get mad at you, you have accomplished two things and prove one.
You got her mad and you just gave anti-gunners another advocate to be against firearms. Plus you have proven you shouldn't be using a gun yourself.
If she is interested in firing a pistol, use a .22 lr. You don't pull crap like this on people because it is dangerous. Don't sound like you have any business "teaching" anyone how to use firearms.

That would be a awesome mistake on your part.. Don't do it.. Do the right thing and show her a good time shooting firearms properly...She will remember that day, so make it enjoyable for the both of you.. Not the best idea to come up with to pull a joke on someone who TRUSTS you.....

Yeah, are you an idiot??? If that happens, she will most likely never want to shoot a gun again, and probably beat your @$$ for pulling such an immature stunt. Tell her what shes shooting so she can tell the difference. Dont trick her. You dont want her to hate the experience do you?

Ace, this sounds really stupid. I'm sure you will drive her away from the sport. Plus, think how you would feel if someone did something like it to you.
Shooting is serious business, this isn't a sport for pranks.

You'd have a hard time finding anything dumber to do. She would do a LOT better if she found someone else with which to be friends. With friends like you she doesn't need any enemies. What an absolute dork!!
