It's just another one of the cutback airliners have said they needed to make more money. I know Northwest has these little boxes full of snacky stuff you can buy for like 6 bucks.
They still serve beverages like soda and water for free, but if you're looking for something alcoholic they make you pay for those too.

They have not stopped serving on long haul flights. They did on shorter ones or discount airlines so they can sell you a cheaper ticket. They found that people would rather forgo the food for a cheaper ticket. Air Canada will offer to sell you food on the flight, but I wouldn't do it if I were you. It's not very good and it's expensive. Either pack a meal to bring with you, or buy food at the airport and carry it on the flight.

I flew to China and returned final month with 2 young infants (my daughter and niece). We took a complete of 7 flights and on each and each we've been served a minimum of drinks and snacks, even the flights that have been basically an hour and a a million/2. on the longer flights we've been served nutrients (diverse nutrients in reality). This grew to become into in financial equipment classification even. I relatively have heard that some airlines have stop serving food, even regardless of the undeniable fact that that's no longer because of fact of 9/11 yet somewhat because of fact it saves the airline money- they are able to in line with danger get away with much less stewardesses, it reduces the load of the airplane, the fee of the food itself, and so on. it is important for the airlines because of fact the fee of gas, and so on. is going up.

If you are not flying overseas they will not this was done so they would not raise the cost of the ticket .I heard from a friend a sandwich costs 5.00. If your going overseas of course you figure the cost of the meal is built in your ticket .Food was never free it was always built into your ticket ...just now these prices are going up
