Someone with no beliefs in any gods.
There are two types of atheists, the "weak atheist" and "strong atheist". The weak atheist is someone who has no beliefs in any gods because he hasn't seen any evidence he's found convincing. Sometimes weak atheists call themselves agnostics, though this is a misnomer.
A strong atheist is someone who has an active belief in the non-existence of gods. They will provide positive reasons for why gods don't exist.
Personally, I'm a hybrid of both. There are some gods that people believe in that are defined well enough or which specific claims have been made of which you can positively show to be nonsense. All gods of existing religions can be shown to be man-made, which is evidence against their being real. So, I'm a strong atheist in that regard.
For other gods that are really undefined, I remain a weak atheist. If a god isn't defined well enough to weigh evidence against it, you can't say anything about it. Still, there's not enough there for any belief in that god. The Deist god is an example of this.

An atheist is someone who has come to the conclusion that the universe does not contain any deities. Most atheists are older because it takes time to work through all of the ideas about God and gods and to realize that they are all made up.

Atheism is the belief of no god. Buddhism can be called an "Atheistic" religion because that religion does not believe in a god.

Atheism, when defined as a philosophical view, is the position that either affirms the nonexistence of gods[1] or rejects theism.[2] When defined more broadly, atheism is the absence of belief in deities, sometimes called nontheism.[3] Although atheists are commonly assumed to be irreligious, some religions, such as Buddhism, have been characterized as atheistic.[4][5]
Many self-described atheists are skeptical of all supernatural beings and cite a lack of empirical evidence for the existence of deities. Others argue for atheism on philosophical, social or historical grounds. Although many self-described atheists tend toward secular philosophies such as humanism[6] and naturalism,[7] there is no one ideology or set of behaviors to which all atheists adhere.[8]
The term atheism originated as a pejorative epithet applied to any person or belief in conflict with established religion. With the spread of freethought, scientific skepticism, and criticism of religion, the term began to gather a more specific meaning and was sometimes used as a self-description by atheists.

Atheism is a religion that believes that there is no God.
It is based on faith just like any other religion.
Most of the people on this site who say they are Atheists are actually God haters. There is a big difference.
