1st and 2nd Maccabees and Baruch? If so what did you think of them? (Someone just gave me a New Jerusalem Bible which contains all those books. Thank You.

I have read them. These are in the Catholic Bible, and not the Protestant Bible. The books of Maccabees are good for history. I think Judith tells of a ceremony in Heaven for Mary.
Protestants don't consider these books, as Jesus didn't quote from them. Since I am protestant, I view them as interesting.

They're actually good; I found the book of Judith to be particularly inspiring, once you bear the historical context in mind.

Yes. I love them and they are among the more inspiring books of the Old Testament.
