I'm not sure about the fine dry hair, I used the Yellow-i think it was the volume one and I didn't notice any difference in the volume. I did notice that it dried out my hair compared to the professional products I use--Joico's Silk Result.. Hope that helps!

im not sure about the professional products but i have sunsilk and it is great! I have a bottle of paul mitchell (if that counts as professional product) and i think it works pretty much the same.

Having fine, thin hair myself, I know this territory well. The only products I recommend, because of long experience, is Nexus. They are available in salons.
