She growls at my dog whenever my other dog wants attention and has recently started snapping at her when she goes to pick up her own things and my dog is scared of her. I say my dog because the scared one is my 1st foster dog whom I'm adopting & the 2nd is another foster dog who is here temporarily. They are usually fine playing in the yard but in the house when it comes to her bed, toys, treats or my attention she gets angry at the 1st pup.

GOOD for you foster family!!!

You need to enroll in a dog training class, This is way to complicated for most of the people here with no experience to give the correct answer to you without making the problem worse.

I also am a rescue foster mom. But many rescues make a detrimental mistake by not providing professional guidance to untrained dog lovers, usually due to a lack of funds, not because they don't care.

Foster homes should NEVER be nothing more than a drop off place until the dog gets adopted by someone.

The foster home should be the one safe place a dog will properly learn basic obedience and be socialized enough to go to a new home with acceptable manners so he doesn't get dumped at a shelter again because he has "issues".

Also, anyone who adopts a pup or older dog who does not obtain professional training immediately is asking for trouble and is not doing anything to help them or the dog.

Lack of training and proper socialization always sets a dog up for failure.

Keep up the great work!!

Your dog is showing dominance aggression. Not good. First of all it means that you are not alpha over the dogs in your own house. You need to enroll in a good obedience with your dogs. This will teach you about dog behavior and how to teach and how to correct bad behavior.

You gota take your dog to training class. Lots of socialization with other animals and people.

Best time for socialization is around 12-16 weeks, right after they finish there second shots.

I take my Danes with me all the time... To the Hardware store, to the park, to outdoor events, anywhere I am alowed (I even took him into the mall to go up and down the escalator).

Separate the second where she can see you when she gets nasty. Take the toys away from her that are not hers and give them back to the other dog. Make her take turns getting special love time. If she gets nasty put her in the separate spot. Be gentle, firm and consistent. Also make sure the other dog knows you love her and that this one is being naughty.

those are called aggression and dominance issues, and see a professional trainer. they should help a lot. it depends on the breed of dog, and if its a mutt there will be problems, but see a trainer. like the person above me said, it needs socialization.
heres is a link for the trainer i used. he makes miracles happen.

show the dog that you're the boss. if you're fostering dogs, i would think that you would know a bit about dog psychology.
