Being nice to others? I ask because when I am pleasant to others, I mostly get negative feedback. Why? Be as honest as you may. I can take it.

I think it is a side effect of our society becoming very rude.

It's what my Pastor told me through the anointing of the Holy Spirit, People take kindness for weakness, and the enemy hates that anointing of Love and fights very hard against it. It's the a Spirit Of Love..
The world has the saying nice guys finish last, and you have to be hard to make it. I guess some people are also afraid if they're kind they will end up hurt. Perhaps they have been hurt in the past and have put up barriers.

What happened to good old fashioned manners? Are they just not being taught anymore? People are just plain rude and selfish these days. If you're nice to me then I'll be nice back.

Keep being nice. It will rub off on others. If not, it makes you look like the better person to act kindly while others act rudely.

It's just that some people respond better to negativity, it seems as if it is more common than for people who are nice. Maybe that is just me.

I cannot give you a definite, as i cannot be exposed to your niceness, I can however surmise that, in the instances I have seen such or done such, it is because the persons niceness was so intolerably fake.

depends on the situation
most people on here would assume in a huge a*shole...but in reality im a really nice guy (or so ive been told)
i just have little tolerance for stupidity.

Maybe they were just having a bad day. No excuse I know. Unfortunately there are some plain ol mean nasty people around.

i think that some people just don't know how to respond when people are nice to them.
when I moved down south, people here are always generally nice and social. and I just wasn't used to that......
it takes getting used to.
