Cut the cabbage into wedges and boil it with a little salt. In just a few minutes it will be tender - test with a fork. Drain and serve as you choose. A sprinkling of paprika on top is very pretty. By the way, if you don't like the smell of cabbage cooking, put a little dish of white vinegar in a bowl on the stove - not on the burner, just sitting there - while you cook and it will absorb some of the smell.

Yes, but if you are using Chinese cabbage there are many options such as stir frying and curries. Green cabbage can be quickly cooked in the microwave with water or just by boiling.
