Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses, while somehow insisting that they aren't Christian as well?.. It is sickening and disgusting really.

If there is a Jesus/God in Heaven, then He must be SO embarrassed by this ridiculous display of "My belief in Christ is better than YOUR belief in Christ!" nonsense. It's like a bunch of four-year-olds.

OK putting aside the fact that I think it is wrong for anyone to belittle anyone else (including, but not limited to, Christians belittling Catholics and atheists belittling Christians) let me just say that everyone in the world thinks differently. We all have different beliefs and thoughts from every other person. So why is it so unreasonable for one Christian to disagree with another over their beliefs? Why is it so wrong for one "type" of Christian to think that an other's view points are invalid?

As a person (never mind my religious affiliations/beliefs) with my own thoughts and ideas, I have the right to disagree with how the Catholic church runs and the notion of Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses are Christians. But you're right, I shouldn't (nor do I have the right) to belittle or demean them because of their beliefs, actions, thoughts, or ideas.

But you're right, there is a difference between disagreeing and belittling.

It is silly, but let's not forget that it is atheists on this category and liberals in the media who consistently provide fundies with such a high (and exagerated) profile. On r&s they are virtually always presumed by atheists to be the "official" spokespersons for Christianity; why do that, can't you see you're helping them with their fake claim to leadership? It's the same thing with the media. The nation's top Episcopalian bishop could die tomorrow and it would be barely noted, notwithstanding a lifetime of devotion to progressive causes, but let a hate-mongeror like Falwell die and the media is all over it like some big event happened because a cheesy tv evangelist died. And it was the same on r&s. Why do you people do this, then tell US it's "silly and ridiculous"? It is. Of you. Not us.

actually, people in religion CAN'T belittle other people in different religions...

catholics = christians = mormons = jw's = jews;

they're ALL the same...

Universal Truth eliminated ALL religions from Spirituality a long time ago..

Here's the Solution for religion:

Create a Private, Personal, Direct, Divine Relationship with Our Creator and save Your Soul from religion's and atheist's beliefs and start Your journey back home, to Heaven.

If you're not a christian is it okay? If I say you're incorrect in your assumption that a non-provable deity exists, is that belittling, bashing, opining, or just discussing?

Or sickening and disgusting or ridiculous?

Perhaps the question posits a non-lugubrious rejoinder?

True Christians tell the truth in love. Sometimes the truth hurts. Gods message is not allways easy to take. Man is the one who brought sin, suffering, and death to the earth. This is why the earth is cursed today. To the people who are not following Jesus I would tell you: If you are not following Jesus you are following a thief. Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10) The devil is this thief that comes up with false teachers and religions. False teachers and religions only come to steal, kill, and destroy. So this makes the devil a liar. We have already learned that Jesus is the truth. Do you want to follow a liar or the way, the truth, and the life?

It's not "belittling" - it's to open their eyes!!!

I would still be a blind Catholic if someone didn't care enough to open my eyes to the TRUTH!!!

Now I am a recovering Catholic.

If you consider the word "cult", then I believe that Catholicism is definitely in that category.
I don't have the specific scripture back up but...

-the bible states not to call any worldly religious leader "Father" yet Catholic leaders are called Father.

-the bible states not to have any gods above Him, yet the Catholic religion teaches to pray to many different saints. If you pray to anyone other than God, you are breaking that commandment.

-the bible states not to practice repetitive, showy prayer, yet the Catholic church is full of mindless, going-through-the-motions prayer. If you need proof, attend a service.

-the bible states that your sins aren't forgiven by "works" but rather by repentance and a sorrowful heart and guidance from God. The Catholic religion lets you out of sin by reciting Hail Marys, Our Fathers, etc.

Need I say more?

That sounds like a cult to me!!!

There's no arguing the facts.

Following JESUS CHRIST and His teaching is the only way.

There, now Christ is in my answer.
Yes, He is the answer.
