Yes.. And your point is?
"I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religion than it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it." Albert Einstein
Read your quote in context. He did not mean the Christian religion, or organised religion, or belief in a deity.
He was speaking of something like imagination, inspiration: the ability to leap to ideas.... Which then need scientific testing. Hence your quote.
Have the ideas, *and then check them*.

He also said the following:
"It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it."
You shouldn't assume that one sentence could ever sum up Einstein's thoughts on religion as well as his actual reference to his true beliefs.

Two paragraphs down from that quote is this:
"Nobody, certainly, will deny that the idea of the existence of an omnipotent, just, and omnibeneficent personal God is able to accord man solace, help, and guidance; also, by virtue of its simplicity it is accessible to the most undeveloped mind. But, on the other hand, there are decisive weaknesses attached to this idea in itself, which have been painfully felt since the beginning of history."
And he continues on and talks about how it's important to abandon the idea of a personal God.

Yes.
I pointed out that most people only use half of that quote.
Thank you for using it all :)
But like i have said before, Just because the guy was smart, doesn't mean he knew everything.
And although allot of people look at him as a role model, i have better things to do then Set up an idol of some dead guy (which goes for Christ too) and blindly follow every word he said.
I don't care what HIS beliefs WERE, i care what MY beliefs ARE.

Most of the scientist we herald as being the downfall of religion began their careers trying to prove God existed. For example, when Galileo began reorganizing the Ptolemaic universe it was because he did not believe that God would have created a universe so complicated and hard to understand.

Science without religion would be boring and lame - as there would be no mythologies to dispell.

Yes. To clarify, he also said this about his religion:
My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind.

Yeah, and Hitler said,
"I believe today that I am acting in the sense of the Almighty Creator. By warding off the Jews I am fighting for the Lord's work." [Adolph Hitler, Speech, Reichstag, 1936]

One has to think for ones self
