Just stop downloading movies, and they might just leave you alone.
Right now, they are aiming at College students, but soon, they will aim at Internet Providers to help them to point out thieves.

What Niklaus Pfirsig said. If you have been downloading alot of movies, comcast might be noticing the amount you are downloading. Comcast is bad about shutting down accounts on of people who use a lot of bandwidth. If you are downloading lots of movies and music, you will likely be warned, if not just cut off w/o explanation.

more than likely if the MPAA continue to see you downloading or uploading copyrighted contact they'll contact comcast again and force them to shut down your comcast account.
suing people never really gets anywhere (yet) and it's not worth the legal fees unless it's heavy downloading of illegal content where they stand to make an example of someone.
be aware though, that all the time you're downloading via bittorrent, you're also uploading too - that's the nature of the technology. either way, anyone can see the list of ip addresses that are sharing a particular torrent, so....

Could be one of the two options:
1) If Comcast is responding to a request or court order to turn over your records, you are pretty much going to get sued.
2) If Comcast is just doing packet checks and noticed illegal content, you may just be receiving a warning that they detected illegal activity. They may or may not turn you over to the copyright holders. Likely they won't as they don't have any obligation to police copyright content. They could be filtering to ensure they aren't brought into a lawsuit and if they show good faith in preventing piracy, they can avoid being included.

For a small monthly fee there are legal sites for downloading movies. However, Comcast might have an issue with your bandwith usage.

Comcast themselves won't sue you. If you don't download the movies anymore, then neither will the movie companies. But, either way, stop doing it. It's bad.

It is near impossible to watch movies online for free or at least is safe and virus free as there are server costs and such that need to be paid and they have to make money somehow to pay them. Allot of the free sites do so nefariously to pay them.
If your looking for a safe reliable site to watch movies online try http://www.vidclown.com as my family has been using them for years to watch/download movies online. They have all the latest movies with no advertising and no buffering on their streaming movies and they even have direct downloads, not torrents. It is absolutely the only site in this category that I trust my kids to use safely.
If your trying to watch movies on your Ipad try http://www.vidclown.com because you can watch the original high resolution AVI, the site works with any device and since you can direct download your movies, there is no need for a proxy.
I've been burned way too many times and found myself with Spyware or a virus on my computer after using many of the free sites to watch free movies online. Its not so free when you have to put hours and hours into removing the crap I got from them. If you are looking for a website that is safe and reliable give them a try.

Tricky & scary,
Yep a likely closure of account BUT is the mail genuine-have you not been bombed by a rival operator who is using scare tactics...I would goto one of the "forums" offered about P2P downloading - try a google on the topic or maybe even one of the P2P websites e.g wwww.demonoid.com & read the stuff they advise in situations like yours...
Good luck & keep smiling

you'd be superb. do exactly not receive anymore for various months. try streaming them, from on-line web content like Putlocker, Videobb and such. you'll detect hyperlinks on Watch-videos.ro, also if the ISP gave you a caution to offer up, you'd be superb. They likely gained't pursue you considering that that they'd basically attempt to scare you to offer up.
