Hello everyone. My name is Karen and I am a 26 year old mom to six beautiful girls ages 7, 6,4,2, and twins are 3 months old,and I am from Texas. I have been breastfeeding each child every day many times a day because after talking with my doctor he has suggested to me that it is fine to breastfeed my children until around ten or twelve years old. I found this interesting thus I have continued breastfeeding each of my children at home on my breast, also through pumping, and in public. I have found the health benefits for my daughters and I to be great, and I was wondering how many other people do something similar? Please share your thoughts and I hope to hear from you soon.

This is not what I had planned on doing but after hearing three different doctors tell me it is healthier for children I went with what they said. If my children don't want it from the breast, I pump and put it in the glass. I feel as if I have a support team and that is good. I was just curious to see if anyone else does this. No hard feelings, please.

i breastfed my son untill 26/27 months i decided id breastfeed as long as he wanted too and thats when he just lost interest, although i dont think its perverted to breastfeed your child for as long as you have (shame on you saying such a thing) im not sure i would have reached that stage with my son before i weaned him. at 29 months old my son can read, count to ten, speak dozens of words and phrases, i feel he is really advanced and forward for his age because i breastfed him. i would like to say its not just the breastfeeding its the mothers diet too and i made sure i had an array of fruit and vegetable throughout to make my milk extra nutritious. well done to you though i think thats amazing! did you know in the uk 8 out of 10 mothers bottle feed? i think your amazing!

I think breast feeding is very healthy for your children but i cant help but to wonder what the psychological side affects might be from breastfeeding until your child is 12. In todays society there are enough tough issues your children will have to deal with...I cant imagine trying to explain that to a friend.

How do you find the time to breast feed 6 kids all day long? Personally I would stop breast feeding at about 6 months to a year. Breast feeding is better but seriously breast feeding at 7 years old is a little much. I have a 6 year old daughter and can't imagine her sucking on my breast.

i've got faith that girls who're unfavorable to prolonged breastfeeding are uneducated, and hence, i do no longer fee their critiques nor do I care no remember if or no longer they help *MY* decision to breastfeed my son. My son is now 22 months old, he nevertheless breastfeeds on call for (from the breast) AND beverages soy milk from a cup as he pleases (hi, he likes it!). i do no longer stress him to breastfeed, yet he LOVES LOVES LOVES his mama milk. and that i merely love the way it calms him down whilst he's distressed, i like the way it helps him heal whilst he's sick. i like the incontrovertible fact that he has purely been on antibiotics ONE TIME when you consider that he replaced into born. in no way had a single ear an infection....So yeah, there are actual advantages. and thanks to those advantages, i'm making plans to enable him nurse as long as he needs. As for the media, beneficial they're in a position to impression women. i don't have a television and could desire to care much less what different persons are doing. I stay in a community the place it particularly is consumer-friendly to breastfeed previous 2 years, hence i'm no longer ashamed in any respect. i think of it sucks that prolonged breastfeeding is considered so negatively by capacity of the media, yet it particularly is the way it particularly is. we could desire to continually upward push up for what we've faith, whether what we've faith is the unpopular decision all of us understand its the dazzling element of do. And so we do it, because of the fact this is the ultimate element for our babies! My son is my first precedence, what human beings think of approximately how I develop my son is plenty down the record. we are additionally a vegan relatives, and that i'm beneficial that particularly some human beings actually have a difficulty with that, yet as long as my son is healthy it is not appropriate.

I personally think this is a joke question.
If you look at a child's chin, it's pretty obvious they are not babies after 5 years old. Most children wean between the ages of 2.5 and 3 years old even in 3rd world countries. Women who nurse much beyond this are either trying to prevent pregnancy, which it does in some circumstances, or have a child with emotional problems.

I wouldn't force my older children to drink my breast milk but if they wanted to I would pump some just so they could taste but not to drink all the time
