Not all "religious" people judge others. It's typecasting. It's the same with minority groups or sexes(example.. all black people... or all men...)There is also a difference between religious people and Christians. Most of the intolerant people you see or the crazy televangelists asking for your money claiming to be religious are not Christian. That is what people mean when they say someone is not a real Christian. So I guess my an answer as a Christian would be it is up to God. The Bible does not allow us to judge others, it is actually specifically against it.

the bible says judge each other in love...it ultimately up to him whether or not you're a bad person, though. Don't let a few people mess it up for you. If you were ever hurt by a judgment, then it was not in love. Also it says, judge others as you will be judged as well...so be careful how you judge you mean"religious folks". I am a Christian too and find it ridiculous how some other "Christians" damage it for us real folks!

I would suggest that you forgive them for judging you. From a christian perspective, the Bible says that the measuring stick we use on others will be used on ourselves by God in the end. The Bible also teaches that "all" men have sinned and fallen short......everyone, equally....that includes "religious people". The only difference you will find in people is between those who have accepted Christ as their savior and those who haven't. The holiest person on earth is no better than the worst sinner who ever lived.....The Bible plainly says we all deserve to die....but Jesus died for us instead and took the penalty on all our behalf.
That may sound preachy, but I think it's important to understand the difference between being a Christian and being religious. The Bible says it's all about Jesus....yet many religious people still believe in their heart that you have to somehow earn your way into heaven by your good works.

Actually as far as Christians go the Bible never says we are not to judge. It warns of hypocritical judging. Of course Christians are supposed to judge others. The Bible says its our duty to point out the sins of our brothers and try to help then choose the path to God. In fact the Bible says that ignoring the sins of others is a sin in itself. So when you think about it, not judging someone elses sins would be a sin.
Jesus said "Judge not by appearance, but judge with righteous judgment"
By the way, the "Judge not les Ye be judged" is probably the most misunderstood quote in the bible. You have to read all of Matthew to understand that Jesus never meant not to judge.

God's Word says "judge not lest ye be judged" It is not up to us, it is up to God. We are all sinners and all sins are the same in God's eyes. We do, however have the right to correct other Christians. This is talked about in the NT. But, there is a right way to do it and it is still not judging.

I guess it depends on what type of "religious" people you hang around, but from what i get is that when the bible says don't judge it means that you can't judge other peoples souls. It's human nature to judge peoples actions so when "religious" people do it they're probably trying to get them to notice that what that person is doing is "unholy".

Everybody judges everybody, whether they are religious or not. Sure, some religious people are obnoxious about it, but I can honestly say that I've met some non-religious people who are equally obnoxious. My personal opinion - human judgments are trivial, and if you believe in God, human judgments shouldn't matter (only God's would matter). If you don't believe in God and still judge, your judgments still don't matter. The end.

Judging require the ability to condemn.
Only God can do that.
However, we can judge between good and evil (a godly trait;
some call it discernment), and Christians are directed to do so in the very same chapter that says, "Judge not..."
Read Matthew 7 it more closely and you will see that we are to judge, but not with a double standard.

Of course it is. That is why their bible states
"Judge not, lest ye be judged."
"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
and a half dozen other passages along those lines. This apparently gives them free reign to pass judgement on everyone. Just look at their responses.
