I need a box of OREO Chocolate Cookie Crumbs and I cannot find them anywhere. I wondered wether or not they still make them , so I visited the Nabisco and Oreo sites. There they have Many recipes calling for them, but they don't have them listed.

I realize that all this effort seems a little silly (even to me), but no substitute I have found works as well in making my, to be modest, Best Ice Cream Sandwich in The World!

Thanks,
val

ok, Of Course I've tried zapping Oreo cookies (do I look thAt dumb?) Its not the same.
Now the recipe - Too Simple

"Archway chocolate fudge cookies" (exactly the right size and they are not too hard and not too soft.
"Good Vanilla Ice Cream"
"Oreo cookie crumbs"
Sep. cookies, fill freeze, roll sides in cookie crumbs.

I've served these at black-tie dinners and had caterers ask for the recipe. I should come up with something more elaborate as this is so simple its embarrassing

Yes...they still make them...I bought them recently in a canister in the baking aisle of Stop & Shop. My kids use them on their ice cream before I get a chance to use them for anything! Your recipe sounds great...will have to try it!

I honestly didn't know you could buy them. I've always just used my food processor to turn the cookies into crumbs. I guess I could have saved myself some trouble!

I have looked for them too! But, i can't seen to find them ANYWHERE!!

Why don't you just crush up oreos or put tham through a food processer?

I've tried before and it works the same!

i cant find them anywhere either and crushing them in the processor isnt the same cause you have to take the cream out of the middle first which is a pain and if you keep the cream in the middle its not the same!!
