I've discovered some dishonesty amongst us. I have been informed by a very reliable source that Electhro # 3 Top 10 (A.K.A. Dammm) has been cheating by giving himself two votes on every answer just to bring his rank up.
His double identity was proven a few weeks back when Dammm put the "10 Years of Xperience Electrical Engineer" as his signature then later removed it.
I will re-post this from time to time to make everyone aware of this phony.

Well AD, I wouldn't get so snotty...
I've noticed a LOT of your answers in the car audio
section as being totally wrong. You are going to
seriously cause someone damage to their equipment with
wrong answers.
Examples:

You missed where the asker has a 4 ohm DVCs, not 2 ohm
DVCs. So your suggestion is wrong.

Here you tell YOUR personal experience with two types
of boxes. The type of enclosure any sub goes in, is
often recommended by the manufacturer.

Here you are just completely wrong.
The list goes on....

This tells me you still are a noob.

Again you can't seem to read. The asker said he had 4
ohm and you show him a pic of a 2 ohm setup.

Here you can't just answer a simple question.

You show a pic on how to wire series when clearly he
needed to know parallel.
...and the list goes on.
Since you don't KNOW the answers and are just
guessing, stop before you cause someone some serious
damage or injury.

There are honest & dishonest people everywhere - we've all seen both types. Personally, I believe strongly in "what comes around, goes around". Eventually it will catch up with him, maybe not here on the forum, but somewhere.
If someone is increasing their votes by fraudulent means, it should be reported to Yahoo, as I'm sure it's a violation of the Terms of Service (I didn't read it - as I'm sure many of us haven't either). Naturally, if it's not covered, Yahoo will most likely add it. How fast Yahoo will react though, is up to them.
To address your concerns about safety - we are asked for answers based upon limited information, but some people think our answers are written in stone & must be true since it's in writing.
Example: When I was growing up, we had 3 electric mains in our home. Not theoretically possible, right? It was possible because the other two panels were "daisy-chained" from the top of the first panel - meaning if we turned off panel 1 that panels 2 & 3 were still hot. To expand on this, if someone were to have asked "how do I turn off the main power to my home", you could expect that one of the replies would be "turn off the main breaker". Did that make the answer incorrect? No it didn't, but you would still have live electric sockets in the house. The answer I would have given would be that if a person is asking how to turn off the main power to my home, they probably have very limited knowledge & I would say they should call an electrician.
Unfortunately, people don't think that car stereos can cause harm to the people or vehicles they are installed in if done incorreclty or poorly. You know as well as I do the damage that can happen if one were to install an un-fused power line through a firewall without a grommet.
I agree, I have seen some answers that are pretty off the wall & the ones that I know are wrong or missing what I would consider vital info, I mark as a thumbs down. Hopefully the asker looks at the thumbs & makes a calculated decision on what answer best suits their needs. As long as they know that the answers they receive are just another persons opinion (which again is most likely covered in the Terms of Service - which again, no one ever reads)

I don't mind the voting as much as I dislike the thumbs down for everyone else. I have seen some really good answers and all of them have a thumbs down except for his. Voting may not be so obvious, but the thumbs down is.
I vote for every question I answered. But I vote for the best answer, and I would say it is 50/50. The reason I vote is to see the percentages and number of votes. I don't use a signature in the source box, so sometimes I don't even remember which answer was mine. One thing I have noticed is that almost always, the first answer always gets 2 or 3 votes. I assume that is the point hungry people that just fly through and vote for the points.
In Electhro's defense, he does give some good answers. I don't think it is wrong to vote for yourself as I mentioned in my question a few weeks back, if you honestly think you gave the best answer. But I don't think it is right to create new accounts for multiple votes.
I predict that the voting will be removed completely if people complain, then everyone will be at the mercy of the asker to choose, which obviously is only like 1 in 20.

If you have nothing else to worry about, report it to Yahoo.
You can also inform FBI, CIA, Homeland Security, your Congressman and DSP (The Department Of Stupid Problems.)
