Why does water seem tasteless?

Water seems tasteless because they is nothing in it although if you want to drink water but want flavor keep it healthy buy Crystal Light mix (single servings per bottle) it has many different flavors that are really good.

The only water that seems tasteless to me is the water I get from my house, not bottled. But, I can taste the difference in water from someone else's house. Also, bottled waters all taste different to me. But, it's probably just because you're so used to water, it's in pretty much everything.

Well that would depend on your definition of taste, now wouldn't it?

You know you can always add some lemon juice, lime juice, a packet of the single serving Crystal Light or Kool Aid to your glass.

Because it doesn't have any flavonoids that the receptors in the tongue can taste...and people are mostly water. So it would seem too common to our taste buds to notice.
