Ok as you all know by now Earnhardt has scheduled an 11 a.m. ET news conference at his JR Motorsports shop in Mooresville, N.C., during which he will announce his plans for next season. And all signs are pointing to Hendricks.
NASCAR.com is stating The contract of Hendrick driver Kyle Busch expires after the 2008 season, and The Associated Press reported Tuesday that Busch may have asked to be let out of his deal.
OK it's no secret I am a die hard Jr and Gordon fan and I am totally stoked about this decision. However if you're a Jr fan and a Gordon hater are you upsett by this choice as some people are speculating? Be honest but please answer maturely. If you're opposed to this change; I'm NOT asking if you'll start supporting Gordon, I want to know why and will you stop supporting Jr?
I am really hoping the majority will say they support Dale.

Well I'm not a huge Jr fan, YET!!! I will most certainly be jumping on that bandwagon if he goes to Hendrick Motorsports though. I figure there will be a bunch of room for me when some of the hardline haters jump off. Can you imagine if Jr gets beer cans thrown at him if he wins in the 5 car? That would be surreal. Hey our favorite drivers will be teammates SnS, too cool. It will be hard to say who's going to get their (HMS's) best stuff now with the 3 Js all trying to be the top dog. I'm fired up to see how it all plays out.

Hendrick Motorsports has produced one of the most dominant performances in modern racing history this year, taking 10 of 14 wins to start the season. Driver Jeff Gordon currently is on top of the standings by 242 points, and the Hendrick stable also includes last year's defending champ, Jimmie Johnson, as well as new first-time winner Casey Mears, victorious in the Coca-Cola 600 at the end of May.
The signing would create a partnership between two of racing's most powerful personalities, armed with more similarities than you might think.
On a more personal level, the deal would pair a driver who constantly has to face the loss of his father coming face-to-face with a man who's forever recovering from the loss of his son. Of course, Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s father was killed tragically in a last lap crash in the '01 Daytona 500; Hendrick's son, Ricky, was among several relatives killed in a plane crash outside of Martinsville Speedway in '04. The tragedy claimed the lives of ten.
Apparently, such a natural magnetic attraction was too much to pass up.

How about the other way around? I am a die hard HMS fan and I do NOT want Jr. as a driver for HMS. All 4 current drivers are better than Jr. All 4 have won a race this year and all but Casey are in the chase. Looking at the big picture, it really does not seem fair that all that Bud money, will be going to HMS.

Short, I support JR always have thought well of him. I have concerns about what the fans of either may do is questionable, not all like both. The drivers will be fine, nascar will still make questionable calls...and life will continue. You know my gripe has been nascars force feeding of Jeffie. Jeff was nice at Eldora and I am sure the drivers will still be fine. Wonder what happens to Kyle?

I'm not a die hard fan of either or of Nascar...but I like sports in general...I like Dale, Jr...but I have always felt that since his dad died, Jeff Gordon would be carrying the torch for Nascar...OK...So, I may be wrong about the win totals, but as I said I am not a diehard fan...I guess it shows...and its kind of boneheaded for Dale, Jr. to go to any other team except Childress, where his dad became "The Intimidator"...Talk about marketting?...Dale, Jr. would have been the only one who could ever possibly bring #3 back out on the track...Well, thats all screwed up now...

i'm a diehard junior fan, but i'm not a gordon hater. it's a lot of gordon's fans i hate, some of them are so arrogant it's pathetic. but i would be thrilled to see junior drive the 5 car, because that would be his best chance to win a championship. but i'm also going to continue to be a martin truex fan also, wethere he continues to drive for DEI or goes somewhere else after his contract runs out.
