cardio is the only fat burning exercise (running, jogging, swimming, cycling, elliptical etc) - do it 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min) and combine with light weight training to tone muscle and not lose it because cardio burns both - fat and muscle (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont work on the same muscle group two days in a row.
do weights first and then cardio and 2-3 days a week of weight training is enough.

altho this question has been asqued a million times... i will say that the best is to do cardiobascular exercises, such as jogging, bike riding, jumping the rope, and stuff like that, even dancing. It must be done on a daily basis tho, or at least every other day, and you must increase the intensity as you go along.

your diet is also part of your weight loss program, so eat healthy and drink lots of water, avoid sugars, trans fats
