It is beyond you, and very tough for professionals. You must tell someone who will get her into a hospital! She is anorexic.

Tell the school counselor AND her parents. Enough is enough and her life is on the line. This is no time for secrecy.
She is not thinking straight and needs you to be "the parent" by telling people about her situation NOW. Don't worry about her "hating" you for telling. What's more important? Her hating you - or her life?
By the way - are her parents "decent" people? Some people would just hit their kid and tell them to stop it. Her parents may expect too much from her grade-wise, behavior-wise, future career-wise, etc., and may need to stop having "expectations" for her because it is stressing her out.

She needs psyciatric help. Having been anorexic for 6 years (although I didn't realize I was at the time, unlike your friend doing this purposely to herself), I know what damage she will do to her body if she continues. There is pages upon pages of health problems she may have later on in life because she is doing this to her body now. Please help her get some help. Talk to her parents and clue them in if you can't get through to her.

She might be anorexic. Show compassion to her and ask what causes her to feel low. Offer to go to counseling with her if you think you can't help her any further. Whatever you do, show her how much you care about her, but at the same time don't neglect taking care of urself too.

Advise her to go to a doctor and ask her does she want you to go with her for support, that may help her stop. If she cuts herself when u r around her call for an ambulance straight away becuase it is dangerous.

you can't help her. It's hard to see someone you care about damage themselves like that, but truly there isn't a blessed thing you can do about it. They have to first realize that it is abnormal and unhealthy, and then they have to want to change. When that happens, they seek out the help they need from professionals that know how to help them.

Tell her parents, or have your parents tell her parents. You're a school kid- you can't fix her. She needs professional help.
