Next time you shave there be sure to shave in the direction that the hair grows and not against it. This will cut down tremendously on the redness and irritation. Also use a shaving cream with some lotion in it or a shaving cream for sensitive skin, this will also help out a lot. If this is your first time then that is probably the main reason the problems happened because it is a place that hasn't gone through it before. Put unscented lotion on it for now and it will help the itchiness and irritation go away.

Apply witch hazel toner ($2 at the drug store) on it now with a cotton round. You can also purchace for bikini toner at a local waxing salon ($15)
Wait a week or so to shave again and when you do follow this advice.
Warm you skin in the bath or shower. Use Bikini Zone for sensitive skin shave gel!!! It's clear so you'll be able to see what you are doing. Shave with grain first. At the end shave against the grain. Go slow!!! The less blades the better. Use plenty of shave gel !!! Cool the skin off after your shower. Wait half an hour and apply toner. Apply toner during the day as needed. It truly helps the itch go away!!!!

Its not a thing to run to a doctor with, you simply have Razor Bumps/Burn. Its caused when hair can get pushed back into pores while shaving and is a common thing in areas you don't shave much, or if you shave differently.
For example, when I go shave against the grain on my face once a week, I usually have ingrown hairs and a painful burn followed by itching a day later, but if I go with the grain, my skin doesn't get irritated.
Itll go away in a week or two at the most. I find its best to just leave it alone or place aftershave on it to slightly soothe it

That other person is an idiot!! It's called razor burn and ingrown hairs. The trick to shaving down there is shave with the hari, not against it. When you shave against the hair it causes ingrown hairs, which are itchy and painful. Also, use a luffa and scrub your skin before shaving, it opens the pores up more. For now, use some baby powder before you put on your panties and it will reduce the irritation.

If this is your first time shaving the bikini line thats probably why. Was it an old razer? Its sort of irritating to the skin when hair is being removed where it was intended to be. If it isn't your first time then take into consideration the product you used to soften your skin prior to shaving or the soap? Maybe it was something you haven't used before or more has more perfume in it. Unless it continues I don't think its anything serious.

Best thing to do is keep the area moisturised and apply a thin layer of Hydrocortisone Cream 1% twice a day. Go to your local Pharmacy for a tube.
Next time, don't bother shaving, try Deet Sensitive Hair Removal Cream. It's much less irritating.

Yes, go to your doctor and you are probably having a reaction to your razor or shaving cream or what ever you used. He/she might order a cream such a lotrimin or tinanctin. Don't do anything with out consulting a physician and I would throw the razor I used away and use a new one next time...

Its just a shaving rash, this happens occasionally. Put a cold flannel on it then some antiseptic cream like savlon.
When shaving make sure that you don't dry shave. Use a shaving cream instead of a soap. Soaps can dry out the skin.

it is ichy because you shaved it is the hairs trying to grow back in. You probly have ingrown hairs they itch and hurt almost like a pimple. Just soak in a hot bath or put anti ich cream on it and just get used to it if your going to shave down there. They do have a cream or gel called bikini zone i think just for this problem i have never used it so beware.

shaking the bikini area often causes this, it is a combo of ingrown hairs and irration of clothes rubbing while you walk. I used to use rubbing alcohol a few times a day to keep pores clean and closed, you can itch the area to help pull the ingrown hairs above the surface. nexttime buy an electric shaver because they aren't as close. or use some nair or wax it key is to not let it get super close to the skin if you want to shave.
