I'm going to high school nexy year and I want to lose at least some weight by this fall. In total, I'd like to lose 60 or more pounds.
And yes, I am over weight; I'm not just like some teenage girl who weighs 120lbs and wants to be a twig. I'm 5'11 and weigh in the 200s and really want to be healthy. Please and thank you!

To lose 60 lbs in a healthy way, diet and exercise, it would depend on the person since every body works differently. 1 to 2 lbs a week is a good rate to lose at so to lose that amount would take about a year. Seems like a long time but you will notice a difference quickly as long as you do it in a healthy way. You will feel better and gradually your clothes will get looser on you, every little bit makes a difference, I know just after losing 10 lbs I feel so much better and look a lot better too.

First, kick that remedy if you'll be able to. Then see if that alterations your consuming behavior. If you can't give up the remedy, it can be tougher so that you can drop pounds, and also you will have to absolutely see your health care provider approximately striking in combination a well plan for you. Diet reasons fats loss, endeavor reasons muscle progress. You will typically ought to do just a little of each, however an endeavor events on my own isn't going to make you lose 60-seventy five kilos. Start through chopping needless sugars and bad fat. Cut soda or any top-fructose corn syrup beverages from your nutrition thoroughly. Eat greens, end result, lean meats/fish/bird/eggs and use healthful fat (butter as an alternative of margarine, olive oil, and so forth.). Drop subtle starches and white bread and potatoes; opt for complete grain cereals with tons of fiber for those who have to have carbs. For an endeavor plan, exchange a aerobic/fats burning exercise (going for walks, going for walks, swimming, cycling, dancing, and so forth.) with a force-constructing plan (weights, and so forth. - gardening is a shockingly well all-round exercise).

Well you dont need to lose that much weight - im 6ft tall and i weight about 175lbs and i am slender and toned.
Its healthy to lose 1-2lbs a week- if you are losing more then its not fat you are losing - its water weight and muscle which means you are slowing down your metabolism and weight will come back.
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

around 30 weeks to do it safley, when you do it the 2 lbs a week way you will also let your skins elastisty tighten properly vs loosing the weight fast and having really loose saggy skin that you usually see on people who have lost dramatic weight in a short time.

Honey i am there with you I am 5'8" and 200 lbs and i want to loose 65 too but after many fad diets i have learned that taking it slow is the best way!

Good Luck Stay Strong!

I lost 60 lbs in around 8 months what i did was exercise every day for 1-2 hours, my routine consisted of lots of running and wieght lifting, i never skiped a day.
Next i changed my eating habits- CUT out all sugar
and avoid any fast food. This was a hard task for me because my family constantly eats out so what i did was go onto the internet and researched all fast food joints, and resturants, and i chose the healthiest things on their menus
i got the ceasar chicken salad with reduced fat ranch or any other reduced fat dressing. Just remember that it is ok to eat junk sometimes but try avoiding it as long as you can. What i did was for the first 3 months no junk food all i did was eat healthy fruits and lots of vegetables, then after i lost 25 lbs i started to allow myself to eat one sweet 2 times a month, then after i lost 25 more i allowed 3 and then 10 more weekly. Also remember to lose wieght you need to cut calories and acording to a calorie caculator to mantian your weight you need to consume 2,400 so to lose wieght cut away 750 calories a day. Remember dont let it become an obsesion trust me i did and it makes losing the weight not worth it, treat yourself once in a while, it ok to do but sometimes.
Hope you reach your goal.
