How can I get new music before it is released to the public? I hear a lot of songs on the radio that are not available in stores or on itunes? Are there special promos that only radio jocks can get?

Please offer solutions to my question instead of imposing your views on to why I shouldnt have access to this music. I'm a DJ that needs new music thats all.

As the other guys have said, radio stations have the music first. I assume that you're a club DJ and want to use that new music. Here is what I would suggest. Purchase the Pollstar record label directory. Pound those phones, use email, mail, or whatever it takes to build relationships with the promotions guys at those record labels. Let them know what kind of following you have as a DJ and convince them that you should get the music first too. You just might break through.
Good luck!

Thats what keeps radio alive! If we didn't play new music before anyone else heard it there would be no reason to play it every hour lol! Radio Stations get new music before it hits the stores and iTunes etc... they may have the new music a week or month in advance like Kelly Clarksons My December music, radio stations had that way before and her cd still isn't out!

yep...that's how it is...we have songs before other people that way we'll know if they like it and will know how big of a hit it will be when people call the song in. It's usually on the radio a while before it is on iTunes or in stores. There is a special program that we use at radio stations that nobody else has...

Yes, the record companies do release new music to radio stations before it is available elsewhere. I don't think there's much way around that.
