I haven't heard a peep from any environmental/Global Warming wackos in a while. Did they finally find out how bad the idea was? I haven't heard anything about CFL bulbs either. Remember Libbies, CFL bulbs contain Mercury (imagine the cost of properly disposing them!).

I tasted some and it wasn't bad. Do you think it will offset the carbon footprint of my fruity pebbles?

I heard that in a couple months when the production capability of ethanol doubles (to represent 40% of the US corn production), that corn prices will skyrocket, causing beef, chicken, and pork prices to go up even higher than they already have and will probably cause ethanol--and therefore gas prices to go up as well.

Ethanol is already 6-10 cents per gallon of the price of the gasoline when mixed at a 10% ratio (E10). Oh, and reduces gas mileage by about 3%.

Ethanol is NOT environment friendly. ! . !
It requires a lot of cleared agriculture land to grow corn, sugar cane or soy beans. In Brazil they are clearing millions of hectares jungle to grow soy beans. In the end the world population will starve to death because all the resources were allocated to ethanol production rather than to food production.
Other alternate sources of fuel are available, however, the fossil fuel lobby owns the governments and their representatives and they are going to milk it dry to fill their own pockets. Give it up. . . when they starve and choke on their own fumes, at least you and I can say to them, "You deserve it since you helped creating it"

well. ethanol is made from corn right? well, people(government) are trying to make it realistic for people but not so sure because gas has more mileage in relation to ethanol. right? well. we would have lots more corn to build up, its good for the enviroment! who knows in a couple pf years we'll find out... right?
