VOB=DVD movie file
BUP=DVD backup file
IFO=DVD info file

Unless your intended player has the capacity to play DVDs you'll need to convert the files into a compatible (MPG, AVI, etc.) video format.

I'm not aware of any free software that will properly convert the files. I use Nero, which I've found to be well worth the purchase price.

Download VLC Media Player from the url below. As has already been stated, VLC will play many formats without the need for downloading additional codecs.

Oops! Apparently, VLC Media Player isn't supported on Windows Me. There's further information on the site to explain how you might be able to overcome this.

as long as this is a video or audio file, go to google and type vlc in the search field, this is a program similar to windows media player, however it plays virtually all audio and video files.

You're going to have to buy a video converter online that cost like $30.
