Some Statistics on Priest's Salaries

Median salary received by priests increased from an average of $12,222 in 1966, to $15,483 in 1999, and to $16,885 for 2001/02.
Priests' median total taxable income and support likewise increased from $26,569 to $33,059

Ahh yes, the Catholic Church. Reminds me of the scripture at Micah 3:11:
"Her leaders pronounce judgment for a bribe, Her priests instruct for a price And her prophets divine for money. Yet they lean on the LORD saying, "Is not the LORD in our midst? Calamity will not come upon us."
If I recall, Jesus Christ stated "You recieved free, give free". (Matthew 10:8)
and again Isaiah 55:1, 2
"Hey there, all YOU thirsty ones! Come to the water. And the ones that have no money! Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk even without money and without price. 2 Why do YOU people keep paying out money for what is not bread, and why is YOUR toil for what results in no satisfaction?"
