1) Yes, I do. I have my morality for one, as by following a bronze age barbaric book I would have to completely give up my moral stance which can not except such a deity.

2) Because most atheists actually study religion. Religious people, as studies have shown many times, are usually indoctrinated at a young age. Many know little about even their own religion.

3)Damn you, caught the sarcasm too late.

1) Why don't you believe in G-d as you have nothing to lose if you don’t and everything to gain if you do?

I have my integrity to lose, if I profess a belief in something I do not believe in it is hypocritical..

Pascal's Wager (Please no not another drink)

2) Why are you in the religion section if you are an atheist?

1) Belief is not a choice. One cannot just choose to believe. No matter how much I could say I believe in a god, that is different from actually believing it.

2) I am in the religion section to try to clear much of the prejudice about atheists. Atheists have such an unfair stigma that I would like to destroy.

3) Sometimes.

1) The only thing I'd have to gain if I believed is a void where my self-respect, logic and common sense once resided

2) Well, what would you all talk about if we weren't here?

3) Dreaming about bananas again, are you? You may want to stop by the Dream Interpretation section to find out what that's all about, if you don't know already

1. But I do have things to lose: my self-respect, much less my rational intellect. Believing in something for which there is no evidence makes me a dupe, therefore I choose not to be a dupe and NOT to believe in some fictional superbeing.

2. Guess what? In my country, we have something called the FIRST AMENDMENT and, until the religion goons can get it repealed, I can say whatever I want where I want...which is precisely what keeps all the kneejerk fascist religionists trembling in their diapers.

3.Actually I don't. Do you have many sexual fantasies about bananas?

1) For this to be valid you have to believe there's a possibility that there's a hell or punishment after you die. I have zero concern over this.

2) It's entertaining and someone has to put ignorant theists straight.

3) If you mean the Kirk Cameron thing that's rather pathetic. For example, the bananas we see are actually he result of human cultivation. Wild bananas look radically different.

1) I've never heard of g-d... what's a g-d??? How do you pronounce "g-d"??? Is this some form of typographic deity perhaps?... Lord of the Missing Vowels? Do you really think you'll go to hell if you type an "o" between a "g" and a "d"? How pathetic

2) This section is about beliefs. ALL beliefs. It is not the exclusive domain of those foolish enough to believe in some form of supreme being (irrespective of how many vowels it may have missing from its name) but rather it is devoted to all beliefs, including the belief that no such being exists. If you have a problem with that why isn't your faith sustaining you?

3) I do not have nightmares ABOUT bananas but some people find that bananas do indeed cause nightmares - or at least very vivid dreams. This is because bananas contain a chemical called 5HT (5-hydroxy-tryptamine) which is also the chemical released when we dream. The receptive sites in the brain which 5HT acts upon are the same that the drug LSD acts upon to cause hallucinations.
