yes they are a reliable car. the only thing is to make sure that you have the funds so that if something does break, you can pay to get them fixed. make sure that the 120K maintenance work was done, if it was, you wont have to worry about shoveling out the money for that too. mine only has 96K on it and my boyfriends has 159K on it and his is still running strong, if not better b/c hes done some work to it. just remember, you dont own a 300, it owns you.

HAHAHA " People buy those cars, they dont sell them"
soooo true.

Nissan's are notorious for being reliable. I have owned several and will continue to buy them.

The 300zx was one of the best models that they had put out until it was replaced by the 350z.

If you take care of the car, change the oil, don't race it around too fast (I know, that's the hard one.) you should be in good shape.

Truly, every individual car is different, but I would love to get my hands on a 300zx, even with 140k.

As always but the best example of the car you want and can afford. Do not buy fixer upper. Because the 1990 to 1996 300 zx is expensive to maintain properly. 280,000 means 5 timing belt jobs at 1,000 each and 3 suspension rebuilds at 3,000 front and rear. Turbo charged car even more costly. The engine has to be removed to replace the left hand turbo. transmission has to be removed to do the right side. Let the former owner keep the car perfect and well maintained. Then buy right.

10 years ago yes now not so much. Old motors timing belts poor maintence and neglect you have a nice looking car that you cannot drive. Just keeping up with the services. Worn suspension and leaky valve covers and clutch job could cost thousands then add parts that are no longer available. Should you need a airconditioning part you may need to start searching the internet. Generally 300zx are sold when there owners have had enough break downs. Have your 300ZX future purchase looked over very carefully. Good Luck

I am dieing to get rid of my 03 Lancer to buy a 300zx, there awesome cars. They look amazing, T-tops, rear wheel drive, twin turbo v6(can get about 400hp) all put together make one great car. Even with 140k mi. you still got a good car, even if the motor goes in a couple of years you can replace it with a new JDM TT motor for about $3k.
They are amazing cars and if I could find one I wouldn't pass it up. A friend of mine said "People buy those cars(300zx), they dont sell them"

Depends on what year model you have. I would say it is definately worth buying, nissans and toyotas last a long time. With 140k miles, I would definately say go for it! But if it has a turbo or twin turbo, they usually tear up easily. I have had lots of problems with the turbo models.

yes, exelent buy, in my opinion, i love nissans and have owned several, they last forever, i would suggest taking it to a mechanic to check for any problems if possible before buying, but look at it this way, i have a '94 Geo Tracker that has 175,000 miles, and it'll still pull a trailer just as good as my truck, and Geo isnt known to be a long lasting vehicle, and nissan is, plus i think any 300zx would be a great buy
