Because homosexuals can't produce a whole bunch of new little recruits for their religion.

for sure maximum religions are homophobic...i dont understand the human beings who say that religions aren't from now on homophobic yet they in ordinary words imagine homosexuality isn't good (duh!),,,like if someone says: " i'm no longer racist yet chinese all and multiple isn't good"...they are homophobic because maximum religions base their administration of human beings on sex. they basically position a sexual frustration and uncertainty on human beings and for this reason they are weaker and controllable. For those religions gay all and multiple is only a threaten.

The key word is phobic.

Religions are afraid of any threat to their power or authority, anything that can topple those at the top. Also, if you can find a scapegoat to criticize, it unifies everyone in the religion and gives them a common identity by being "on the same side." This means that they are easier to control as a mass, since their interests are nto conflicting as long as they are unified by that scapegoat.

It's not that the religions are homophobic, it's that they disagree with the lifestyle. There are actually churches that welcome people of all orientations. BUT>> There are specific verses in the Bible that say homosexuality is wrong. Don't ask me which ones specifically, 'cuz I can't tell you, but I do know one specifically says, A man shall not lay with another man. (paraphrased).

some poeple doesn't accept the idea of homosexuality because its forbidden by thier religion, while some other are just disgusted because of their culture. so it's not only about religion.

example, china, they have no religion, but most of the chinese poeple i met are homophobic!

I don't know of any religions that preach an irrational fear of homosexuals. But religions do recognize that homosexuality is a serious psychosocial disorder that requires help, and any worthwhile religion also recognizes the difference between a child of God and worthwhile human being who is afflicted with such a disorder, who must be loved and accepted, vs. the disorder itself and the sins it can lead to, which must be renounced.

The people are homophobic and use religion to justify it.

If some religions were truly afraid of homosexuality, why would they speak up an out against such immoral activity?

"homophobic" is not the correct term for people who are against the unatural act of same sex intercourse. this is against the natural order and by the mere laws of nature and survival we do not accept this practice..why are athiests against homosexuals.....not just religious nuts..but all normal right thinking people are against this unatural practice of gayness.
