This did not happen to me, however a friend of mine. When the airplane was ready to land the gear stick could not go down so it has to circle in the air, she says when they look through the window, all they could see was ambulance and fire brigade truck awaiting, anyways it had landed safely. that must be really scary.

I was in a jet landing at London Heathrow when suddenly it felt like the jet had lifted in the air sideways in a gust of wind or something, right before touchdown. I was at a window seat, and it almost looked like the wing hit the ground, but then we levelled out of it and landed safely. I thought I imagined the wing coming so close to the ground and that is was an optical illusion or something, but then we were getting off the plane, and the flight attendants were VERY jittery and pale as ghosts. Hmm...

I was Flying from Albany to Pittsburgh (and then on home to seattle) , And about 25 minutes into the air they told us that the gear shift was stuck and we were losing to much fuel but we should still be able to make it to Pittsburgh (why they would announce that over the intercom, I have no Idea)... 10 Minutes later they told us we wouldnt make it to Pittsburgh and we were going to buffullo for an emergency stop... When we got there, There were tons of Firetrucks and ambulances... Plus they had no more outgoing flights for the night and They had to put us up in a hotel. I was 17, Flying by myself for the first time, No $$ left and terrified

My scariest moment was landing in Atlanta. Everything was routine until we had to abort the landing at the last minute. Naturally all of the passengers were wanting to know why and eventually a flight attendant told me that another plane pulled onto our runway at the last minute. So our planes almost collided. Nice.
That was the worst other than normal turbulence.

Sitting in 1st class at 3 in the morning next to a door on one side that didn't sound like it was closed all the way and on the other side, a psycho guy that is angry that I was refused to talk to him after 12 hours of waiting for a plane. Because the original flight was cancelled after the plane had to make an emergency landing and had to replace all the tires afterwards.
It was my first flight in my life, thank goodness the flight was only 45 minutes!

2nd flight, we sat on the runway for over an hour, without knowing why. After we left the plane, I watched the news, a helicopter crashed in our path on the runway! >:(

Turbulance over Russia when flying from Holland to Japan. It was so bad it threw one of the air stewardesses in the air and then down on to the floor cutting her head open.
