you know i am old enough to remember when women went through backstreet abortions to lose their baby. they would drink gin, sit in hot baths for hours or use a kniiting needle, anything to ensure the end of the pregnancy. now dont get me wrong i think to use abortion as a matter of course for contraception is a terrible thing. But dont lets go back to this. please. i do belive that women should not have to go through an unwanted pregnancy. i do belive they should have the choice with out people preaching at them and pushing them into something they dont want to do. are you personally prepared to adopt all those unwanted babies.... no of course your not. abortion is here and i for one hope it will stay. as a young person i fought for womens rights and this is one of the rights i fought for, along with the right for equal pay, and to be treated like an equal with out the assumption that i would tied to the kitchen sink and abortion aids that right.

I think that the women who abuse the option of abortion are disgusting. Abortion is not a form of birth control. But I think that regulation abortion would actually be a good thing. There are instances where abortion is completely logical. In a case of rape, insest or severe medical illness. And yes, there are some women who take the risk of getting pregnant when they cannot afford to raise a child. I don't look down on these women either. It is their right to choose.
The only thing I have a problem with is women who constantly go out and have sex and when posed with the question of what they would do if they got pregnant they say, "oh I'll just have an abortion"... IMO, THAT is wrong!

Abortion is a murder...no ifs and no buts...
I think we do not have the right to kill a human being.whatever the reason it... that baby has the full right to live life...They might be inventors...or peace makers ..
I think the only way to allow abortion is that when the mother's life is in danger...
Also sometimes I feel with the raped woman especially in some countries where the child would be treated in a very bad way because they come to life that way... I don't know but I think the woman in such places might find it better to abort the baby, for her and for avoiding the dark future awaiting the child... but it is really a terrible decision to kill a baby... I would never decide to abort whatever happens...
Peace!

No, it shouldn't be banned completely. I think abortions ought to be regulated after the first two semesters so that you can only abort a fetus after the age of viability only if it poses a threat to the mother or if it's not going to survive more than an hour or day or week, etc.

While I do not like the idea of treating life casually--i.e., abortion should not take the place of birth control--I prefer that women have control over their own bodies, since they are the ones most directly affected by what happens to them. I think it is immoral to force a woman to go through a pregnancy that results from rape or incest.

I'm pro-choice, and I don't believe you can discriminate on who can have an abortion. I don't understand those who say that a woman should only be allowed to have one after rape or incest. I mean, what are you trying to do here? Punish the woman? Is a baby not worth the same regardless of how it was conceived?
I think it's very hypocritical. Abortion should be available in a safe and secure environment for anyone who feels they need one.

The Arch-Bishop Charles Chaput has indicated that the "morning after pill" should be available to the rape victims through Romanin Catholic Hospitals (which are many). It still challenges RC beliefs because we believe life happens at conception (sperm penetrates egg) rather than implanting on the womb.
I would say the movie, "North Country" kinda opened my eyes wide on the rape & baby story. Check it out.

When it comes to what a woman can and cannot do with their body, there should be no regulation. For that matter, what ANYONE wants to do with THEIR OWN BODY should be their choice.
The only regulation should be to educate anyone interested in an abortion with all options. That way they can make an EDUCATED choice.

I dont think rape is an excuse. Its still an innocent baby, there's always adoption if it would be too hard to raise a child made in that circumstance. (40 weeks is a small sacrifice to give a loving couple their dream, and an innocent child a chance)
I am pro-choice, because I think its better in cases:
The mothers life is at stake, and IF she has other children. (if she has no other children - dont get the abortion, any good mother would risk their life for their child)
or
The baby is SURE to suffer from the minute they are born.

i think of you made an identical fact or asked an identical question a pair of one million/2 dozen situations. besides, it is not all approximately YOU, YOU, YOU. and that's basically one occasion of a clarification for abortion. i think of there are a lot of human beings obtainable that could say that the life of the mummy is a basically clarification for thinking abortion, me lined. yet i don't have self belief hundreds of thousands of youngsters have been murdered simply by fact of a valid project for the mummy's well being.
