Every culture has a story about 'first people' and the woman causing all the evil, two brothers fighting and one killing the other and a great flood. In the Judaic and Christian faith Moses wrote all the stories of a flood and first people.

I believe there is a lot of truth to it and it was written to get across some basic lessons and to start the prophecy of the comming of Christ. They think Eden use to be located in Iraq and what is believed to be Noah's Arc is in Turkey (closely guarded by rasical Muslims afraid there might be something to this God business)

The story of Adam and Eve is an origin myth. Read Joseph Campbell, Edith Hamilton, and Thomas Bulfinch.

no its not true its a story though many people would have you believe different.

read the story and then ask yourself some questionsabout what's going on in the story and try to make sense of it.

It is when you do this that you will come to the realization that this is a story about obeying gods orders and nothing more.

Like many things in the Bible, it may not be literally true, but is written to make known principles. The principle of the story is that humans were at one time enlightened beings living under God's light and grace, but because they were tempted to be gods themselves, they separated from Him and fell into a disgraced state, subjct to the natural world and the lower laws of nature rather than spirit, and that's what set the rotten world as we know it into motion.

My dear,...

... If the story of Adam and Eve could be proven or discredited with irrefutable FACTS, then do you really think that there would be ANY reason at all for ANY of us to be logged onto Y!A, wasting our time and energy in the R/S category, engaged in mind-numbing and vitriolic arguments?...;-)

Are you telling us you can't take the word of people you don'know, who wrote their myths in choppy pieces, copying from various existing tales. some thousands of years ago? The very same people who thought the world was flat, and who thought it was OK to slaughter their neighbors and their children? Well ..... good for you!
