The biggest negative effect is the possibility of jail time.
Unfortunate indeed, but if you are careful you can avoid this completely. Here is a very good guide on doing just that: http://isellpot.ws/
Another negative effect is, if you smoke way too much of it, you can have lung problems. Solution? Don't smoke so much. Really, you have to smoke A LOT to run into this. You can also avoid this altogether by vaporizing. What's more, a bong is much easier on the lungs than say a spliff or through a pipe.

Every drug has some kind of "effect"...whether it is positive or negative depends on the person and the physical state that person is in. For example, some studies have shown that long-term use of marijuana can effect the short-term memory of a normal, healthy person (obviously, a negative effect) but given to a cancer patient on chemotherapy, it helps surpress nausea and gives them an appetite as well as helps ease some of their pain (obviously, for them, a positive effect). And people who say something as stupid as "it leads to harder drugs" or "addiction" is simply mis-informed. People who are not satisfied with their lives will become addicted to whatever makes them feel better...whether it's marijuana, alcohol, Prozac (prescription medications), etc. And if what makes them feel better loses its ability, or the effect of the drug lessens in its intensity, that person may choose to progress to harder types of drugs in order to manifest that euphoric feeling of contentment...which is usually why a person takes drugs in the first place. Its not the drug that makes the addict, its the physiology and psychology of the person that can make THEM an addict.

yes it does, and how would you classify singing as a real true job, you make money and pay people to use it paying your bills? They don't worry about saving people in a hospital, or working in law, hell, most of them hire people to cook for them, possibly because they spent half there life smoking pot and don't have nothing better to do then sing, hell, anyone can sing, (in there own tune)
p.s. Mike, it's damage your brain, not brain your damage....my point taken

Its illegal and if you do it long enough eventually you will get busted. Now, think about this. Im a corporate recruiter for a living and nowdays more and more companies are refusing to hire anyone with any sort of drug convictions. I have to turn down people quite often because they got busted for pot sometime in their life.
So, is that silly little high worth possibly giving up a great job 10 or 15 years from now? To me that is pretty negative.
