I don't believe the 2 are related. Poor health in general definitely messes with your period. Once you start you'll notice that health (losing/gaining weight, stress, illnesses - everything messes with the timeliness of your cycle). However since you haven't started at all yet, that is probably not the case. At 16 I wouldn't worry yet - I know people that didn't get theirs til they were 18. A good doctor's check up would probably not be a bad idea however.

First of all if you know you binge eat you should see a doctor about that. But your body will not have a period if its not healthy. If there are stress changes in your life, eating changes, sleep changes...ect. Anything can affect if you get a period or not. Even if you had been getting a period for the last year or however long your body might skip a few months if there is some change affecting your health. You should see a doctor and bring up your concerns. Your body may also not be ready to start your menstration yet. Good luck. Get healthy its the best thing you could do for yourself and your family.

Women start menstruating at all different times. Are you stressed out about it? Is something else causing your eating binges? Mayoclinic.com has information about binge eating. It's an eating disorder whether you purge or not. There are people who can help you. See a doctor for more information about your binging and your period.
Once the doctor checks you out (or until then), I would focus on creating a healthier eating plan and try to forget about your period. Eat a diet full of fresh vegetables, and fresh fruit, whole grains, low or non fat dairy products, lean protein and 8-10 glasses of water a day. Get some physical activity every day. You'll start to feel better.
Best of luck.

As you noted by the slow growth during puberty, it might just mean that you're a late bloomer but you're not helping anything with the eating disorder. It has been proven many times that eating disorders can effect the menstral cycle and this could be the reason why you haven't been able to get it yet. My best advice would be to see a physician because they're going to know more than anyone on Yahoo! answers. Your family physician should be tracking your growth rate during puberty and if he were concerned, he would've expressed this to your mother or father. You do need to see a dietician or psychologist for the eating disorder though, I strongly recommend this because eating disorders can lead to more serious problems like depression, hormone imbalance or eve organ failure.

I don't think it's because of your binge eating disorder. If you purge after you bidge ate, then that will be the reason why you haven't gotten your period.
Some girls age differently, some girls get their periods when they're 12, others get it when they're 17.
But this is what I've been told from health teachers, if you're really worried about it, go ask a doctor.
I hope that works!

Binge eating disorder is a somewhat unrecognized but serious disorder. It can affect many aspects of our health - reproductive health, included.
BED causes many physical and psychological problems for patients. Obesity and depression are both strongly correlated with the disorder, although in both cases it is unclear whether these symptoms are the source of BED or a result of it. Patients with BED also tend to withdraw socially, as embarrassment over their condition causes them to eat at home in private.
I hope you'll take a few minutes to read more on BED and perhaps consider some of the treatments mentioned:

Good luck :)

you have probably just put your system out of wack.
talk to a doctor for all your issues.
I was the starvation type..and it made everything a little off. They might suggest birth control to help get your estrogen flowing.
Good luck. Its hard to beat and eating disorder...I'm still fighting with it 8 years later.
