Two gunmen on a motorbike have killed two school girls and wounded six others as they left their school south of the Afghan capital, Kabul, officials say. The attack in Logar province came at about midday as pupils were leaving. Officials say the gunmen waited for the girls before spraying bullets into the all-girl school and escaping. It is not clear who carried out the attack.

Yeah, only Taliban or Al Queda are this low.

I don't think many people outside the Taliban are real fans these days.

I also think Mochrie should study up a little on exactly when the Taliban took power. They were but one of the mujahadin groups supported by the USA during the fight against the Soviets. They didn't take power until 1996, and last time I checked, Ronny wasn't President for 16 years. Who was President in 1996 anyway?

Edit: I bet I can guess who gave me the thumbs down. I am quite well versed on the Afghanistan conflict and the USA support against the Soviets (starting in 1979 to be exact, during the Carter Administration). I am also quite well versed on the fact that the Taliban didn't emerge as any sort of power in that country until the 90s.

But much of Islam supports Al Qaeda. Some by funneling money, sanctuary, and training. Others by just not saying anything in opposition. Until the so called "moderate" Muslims stand up and SCREAM condemnation of such things, this will remain an ever growing problem. Just think of what between 1 and 1.5 BILLION people can do.

I don't know. The Taliban are the same folks that say it's a crime punishable by death to even attend school. Would have to say that most reasonable people are not fans of the Taliban.

Um, the Islamic fundamentalists? Ie, the same people who have always rooted for them?

They think the same way about us. We're the caractuaires on their t-shirts. Motes and beams, people. We may have the 'moral high ground', but that's only cause the bar's so low.

That's typical of them. They will reside in hell someday.

I don't think anyone is "rooting" for the Taliban or Al Qaeda other than the Taliban and Al Qaeda.

No one roots for the Taliban anymore. However, we did under Reagan's administration. We armed them, trained them, and put them into power.

Edit: Thegubmint might want to learn a little about the Soviet conflict in Afghanistan that we entered during the Reagan administration.
