Wine has a substance known as malonic acid in it. This chemical helps digest fat away from the heart, so it is good against heart disease. It makes the fat easier to digest, so yes, it is healthy. Too much gives too much acid which may burn the intestinal lining. Hope this helps.

A glass of wine per day can contribute to your health, so yes... Drinking any amount of alcohol during any time of your pregnancy is absolutely not healthy for the life of the unborn. It's a very general statement to say that the French do this, I have never heard anything like that. It's proven, so just refrain until later. But yes, red wine can be healthy for you. Enjoy.

It should be dry red wine to be beneficial.
How much red wine should I drink?
A four-ounce glass of wine is equivalent to one serving. Men will benefit from consuming one to two servings per day. Women should consume only one serving per day to reap the maximum benefits. This is not to say that you should start drinking alcohol if you presently do not. Occasional or binge drinkers have higher mortality rates than those who drink moderately on a regular basis. In those who consume three or more drinks per day, there is an increased risk for elevated serum triglycerides (fat in the bloodstream). Long-term, excessive alcohol consumption can damage nerve cells, the liver and the pancreas. Heavy drinkers are also at risk for malnutrition, as alcohol may substitute for more nutritious foods.

well.... it depends on ur age. i think a younger person will benefit from less wine. i think one glass is ok and i have heard that red wine (in small doses) has benefits to the heart. good luck!

One glass being a small glass (1 - 1.5 units) is the recommended allowance. A large glass... which i used to have with dinner....can be up to 3.5 units which is over double that amount.... frightening!!!
