This sounds strange, probably, but usually in word if you highlite a bunch of text (not the highlite feature, just regular old click and drag), and start typing, the highlited text will delete to be replaced with what you type, or paste into it. I must have changed a setting because now it pastes or types before what was highlited, and I have to highlite and press delete to get rid of it...any thoughts? does this even make sense?

Tools > options > edit > check 'typing replaces selection'

Hit the Insert key once.

yup, this is has happened to me too

To fix this, u need to goto tools->options-> edit

i am pretty sure u need to check off 'typing replaces selection' and uncheck 'overtype'
