A troll is someone who just passes through from time to time and drops out messages that are just meant to get people mad or upset. Trolls don't have real opinions they just like to stir up a reaction. It is like trolling for fish, you throw out a lot of hooks, keep going and hope something bites.

People that post questions or answers with the intent to offend, people of a specific veiwpoint. It can work counteractively when people have equally founded veiw but are offended by eachovers. So they both regard eachover as trolls.

Someone looking to rile up everyone else, not ask legitimate questions or give legitimate answers, and bumming around looking to piss everyone else off and not contribute anything of any value whatsoever. They generally like to do or say anything they can to insult as many people as possible, and often report people for merely disagreeing with them--they also often send childish, threatening emails devoid of much grammatical value, I might add.

I have been told that it is someone who pretends to be a member of the "opposing" team...saying something to make that team look really stupid and uneducated...
Say an fundamentalist posing as an atheist and then posting some stupid rhetoric.
