1) The film presents the scientific evidence that humans are the primary cause of the current global warming, discusses the possible ramifications, and what we can do to prevent them.

2) I've researched the science pretty thoroughly, including the best source - the IPCC report. Here is the Summary for Policymakers, if you'd like to read it. It's quite a good summary and only 18 pages long with lots of nice charts and graphs and such.

3) Al Gore doesn't have very much science expertise as a politician. His film is just presenting the scientific data, so he doesn't need a lot.

4) Al Gore is unbiased and trustworthy. The scientific experts have agreed that his film is mostly accurate.

"The nation's top climate scientists are giving "An Inconvenient Truth," Al Gore's documentary on global warming, five stars for accuracy."

Well, Al Gore basically claims (this is extremely simplified) that Global Warming will be good for the bad things, and bad for the good things, and that YOU are making this happen by driving your SUV's and turning on your incandescent lightbulbs.

If you want some more information on this, from a non-alarmist source, you should read "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming and Environmentalism" by Chris Horner. There is a chapter in that book that specifically deals with refuting Al Gore's book.

And as for your third question, the only think that Gore has qualification for, being a lawyer and a politician, is using rhetoric to get people to believe him. He is not a scientist, so I don't know why people are listening to him.

I definately DO NOT think we should trust him as a reliable source.

The basic claim is that humans have had an important impact on weather. While the world goes through a natural cycle of increased CO2 levels and heat waves, or low CO2 levels and cold waves, humans have had an enormous impact on this otherwise natural cycle. To such a degree that the cycle is now unnatural and dangerous to life.

AL Gore has nothing to gain by his information. He may have even lost the presidency because of his research and insistence in this subject! I suggest you watch the video. There is also a site that gives further info. Watch, read. Decide for yourself.

If Global Warming is in fact happening, there is a positive coming out of this.

(A) If some icey areas warm up, we can inhabit new, fertile areas, rip up more forests, harvest more crops and endanger more animal species. The world population may some day reach 10 billion people and we might as well just cover the world with more cities..........

or (B) we could all vote for Al Gore and let him save mankind.

Either choise A or choice B.

Forget Al Gore. He has absolutely nothing to do with the solid science that says global warming is real and (mostly) caused by us. Neither does the "Politically Incorrect Guide".

The scientific data:

http://ipcc-wg1.ucar.edu/wg1/wg1-report.html

summarized at:

The opinion of the scientific community, less a (very) few skeptics:

Do you think this guy gets his information from Al Gore?

"Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich challenged fellow conservatives Tuesday to stop resisting scientific evidence of global warming"

As far as your question regarding Al Gore I think it is a little biit of both answers. But it is clear .. GLOBAL WARMING IS HAPPENING!!!!!!

If you forget about the movie and do your own research and you will find some of the same alarming facts. Look at the warming trends. Look at the fact that the polar ice caps are melting on the north pole and ice shelves the size of Rhode Island are breaking in the Antarctic........

He's only a major spokesman for the scientists who study global warming and are concerned.

What expertise to YOU have in the field to come to your conclusions?

I don't think very many people would be interested if the primary spokesman about global warming was a nerdy scientist who wasn't good at PR.

Well that 1 deg in 100 years ,I am not quite that old but the accuracy of the thermometer back then could of been off that much easily. The green house gas is still only 1.1% then oxygen is 20.9 and nitrogen is 78% . The bad CO2 is very heavy and the plants have done a great job fo recycleing our air.
