1 Peter 2:12 says "Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world." (NLT)
How are your thoughts, actions, behaviors, comments and reactions living out this verse? If you are not a Christian, would seing a Christian living out what they believe by caring for widows and orphans and those who cannot care for themselves change the way you feel towards them?
My point to fellow Christians is that there's nothing more powerful than living out what you believe with grace and humility. Let's remember that when we response to others!

Too bad that more Christians don't exercise that restraint when they jump all over everybody here--non-Christians, and other Christians alike. Judgmentalism and pettiness are the biggest rampant problems with many Christians on this forum.

Its more than helping widows orphans and those who can't help themselves.
You touched on it briefly. Can they tell your a Christian by you actions. If you profess Christianity and that you believe in the bible and yet you deny large sections of the bible how is your unbelieving neighbor edified by that?
I'm deadly serious here. If your not living according to scripture and they can point out your errors as non-believers what kind of testimony are you giving?
It happens here all the time. Its why they call us hypocrites. Have you ever stopped to consider its true?
For example if Yahshua, your savior, your God, your example , the one of whom Paul said follow me as I follow Messiah, since he kept the sabbath why aren't you?
If he would never put lobster or pork chops in his mouth why would you?
If he wouldn't touch Christmas or Easter with a ten foot pole why are you keeping them?
The answer is really quite simple you draw near with your lips you cry Lord Lord and yet your heart is far from him because you will not obey or follow him.
If you, very possible judging by your name, are a Torah pursuant believer then I apologize but the message is still the same for those Christians reading this post. Repent! The Kingdom of God is at hand!

some people do take the bible literly this I haven't seen in the bible, then again I don't read the bible everyday some of the people say I'm not worried about it b/c God will take care of it, I belive you got to help your self and let God help you in that way There was a write up about the 2 parents of a child was facing charges b/c they would take their child to the hosptal for help. The kid died, I think it was a girl about 10 yrs old. They were relying on God to heal her. God also gave the world smart people and talents, they are called doctors that have medicine. So what I'm saying belive in God and let him help you but don't go do stuff that you know will harm you. What you said I wonder if the poison is satan. Then again we all make mistakes but I call it free will. Not satans work. That is why I think the bible is confusing. Some stuff you aren't suppose to take literly but yet some people do. And which are you suppose to take literly? Why back in the bible times did they say not to do something. Was that person bad therefore; all the other people from then on are going to be bad like that one. example mediums. Okay I seem to be getting off of your subject I guess its time to get off the subject when I start rampling. bye

I left Christianity because of the people who believe in the faith. I simply refuse to be part of the sickness of modern Christianity anymore. Christians don't follow this passage - it is so much easier to stone the gays and praise Jesus while condemning other people to hell.
It is better to have NOTHING to do with Christianity. As it works in this day, IT IS A FALSE RELIGION,

KUDOS for using scripture to challenge believers!
Do we really want to go to a heaven full of people who believe the whole point of Christianity is just getting to heaven, rather than serving God by serving others?
GOOD people are rejecting Jesus while we argue interpretations, semantics and doctrine. SHAME ON US!

That's an awesome verse. If that doesn't tell us that others are watching all the time, I don't know what does. We should deff. be living what we believe EVERY day, because we may be the reason some one turns to/from God. Great insight!

As an atheist, I love that verse. Many of us unbelievers live that way as well. Thanks for sharing. Let's all live in a humble and christ-like fashion, believer and unbeliever alike. I'm with you, brother.

Living in a humble and Christ-like fashion, loving our God and loving our neighbors as ourselves is the best form of evangelism.

Their testemony turns people away from God.
