they aid in drying out the infected area the "zit" itself - however many people who suffer with combination skin (meaning they develop pimples from their oil glands but still have dry areas on the face) find that using tea tree oil or witch hazel can worsen their face - overdrying the skin around the infected area and causing rosasia (pinkish/red skin). You're better off using a topical treatment with no alcohol and - in 3 steps tone, wash and moisturize (products at a Ph 5.5) and then going to your local GP (if you feel the spots are bad enough) and getting some prescribed topical treatment just for the spots themselves - eg. "differon"

You should buy pure tea tree oil! Works Wonders!!! My sis uses it! For a very small bottle it is like $10-$15 but is very much worth it!

Yes & my favorite blemish stick w/ tea tree oil is made by Desert Essence. I get it at Trader Joe's but it is also available @ Whole Foods & other places.

I use a tea trea mask (leave it on overnight), and it works wonders on pimples. My husband also gets patches of acne on his forehead during times of stress, and it works for him as well. They usually fade within 24-48 hours when using the mask; it dries them right up. There is no harm in giving it a try. I hope it helps!

tea tree oil is a natural aniseptic it cleans the root of the pimple, but it also is extremely drying to the skin. i suggest using a good moisturizer that is non-comedermic-"wont clog pores" after using it.

hope this helps

They do. It provides a natural way to dry up that area. A bit smelly though (I actually like it, but get some complaints).

Much more gentle than over the counter creams and treatments.
