I'm 23, 5'1" and about 136lbs. That may sound like a lot, but its definently more muslce than fat, and ummm, well...I have big boobs, so I guess that where most of my fat is. Haha!

Anyways, I go to the gym 3 days a week and I do cardio (tredmil, stairmaster, elliptical, cycling class) and I've recently started to do some weights, which has helped tone my arms and legs. But my biggest problem area are my abs. It's lost some weight, but it's not as flat as I want it to be.

Sooooo, please tell me....what are some good ways to get flat and/or hard abs???

(Oh, and I already do crunches, but I'd like to do something else in addtion to that.)

Thanks! :o)

if you are saying that you have some fat on your belly then crunches wont help getting rid of it - they build muscle but do not burn fat so will make it look even bigger. the only fat burning exercise is cardio.
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

I agree with the "leg throws". also- instead of just straight up and down, have them push them both to the side, separate them to go in a circle, or bring your legs up apart in a circle.Your stomach will be aching- it's awesome!

also- back and side crunches(it does require someone sitting on/holding your legs, also the back crunches-you may look like a shrimp if you do them correctly-be sure to focus on the ceiling). partner crunches- both of you do crunches- you lock legs. have your legs on the outside- you will receive more of a workout. be sure you both go up at the same time.

This you can do anytime-anywhere. flex your stomach- often. whenever you are bored- no sweat involved. also, go side to side slightly (focusing on your waist, of course).

Good Luck!

lay on your back and have someone standing over you
lift legs together as fast as possible the person standing over you will throw your legs back down, you have to stop them before they hit the floor
do this as fast as you can for as long as you can and just keep doing more week by week
