Well, yes, there is something wrong with someone who need the constant adoration and worship -- not just of a few, but of EVERYONE.
This has often amused me.
However, believers will say that, god being synonymous with The Good, that what you're really doing is worshipping goodness.
But still.
And if we're such pathetic, worthelss, sinful wretches, doesn't that make it even sillier to need our adoration and worship?

I have a very specific, very pagan, definition of the term "worship." I would be deleted if I went into details, but let's just say that, like prayer, it is done while kneeling.
I used to love being worshiped, and worshiping, but I've gotten too old. (And my knees hurt too bad to kneel.)

Let's see:
–noun 1. reverent honor and homage paid to God or a sacred personage, or to any object regarded as sacred.
2. formal or ceremonious rendering of such honor and homage: They attended worship this morning.
3. adoring reverence or regard: excessive worship of business success.
4. the object of adoring reverence or regard.
5. (initial capital letter) British. a title of honor used in addressing or mentioning certain magistrates and others of high rank or station (usually prec. by Your, His, or Her).
–verb (used with object) 6. to render religious reverence and homage to.
7. to feel an adoring reverence or regard for (any person or thing).
–verb (used without object) 8. to render religious reverence and homage, as to a deity.
9. to attend services of divine worship.
10. to feel an adoring reverence or regard.
MAYBE definition 10. But definitely not the other ones. So for the most part, No.

Anyone who has a pet and is honest with themselves know that pets don't worship their owners--it's actually the other way around.
The growing industry of "pet spas" and other craziness in this country is evidence enough of that.

Sure they do. Just look at the Roman Empire and Ancient Japan. Whoever was the emporer at the time was also considered a god and to be bowed down and worshipped as a god. Please check your history books (before they are rewritten)

I don't want to be worshiped. Worship belongs to God. I want to be respected, but never worshiped. That would make me an idol.

Thank Goodness you can't imagine it. It is a little hard for me to understand God as well. But fact is, we are mere human, and we can't understand God. He IS so Holy and one of the reasons He created us was for us to serve him and worship Him.

Requiring obedience and submission, then rewarding them for doing so is not demanding worship?
If you're God, you're due worship, aren't you?

I don't know... maybe it would be fun to be worshiped...for a while. But Gods are set up and ultimately destroyed by their creators.

LOL. But you are not like God, you only know what is right and what is worng, that is about it with similarity.
God asks us to worship Him only because He knows it is a pleasure when we get to know Him.
