The world would be a better place if this were to happen. Unfortunately, the devil manages to confuse people everyday. By not following the Word of God, these confused people have caused divisions.
If we would only speak where the Bible speaks and be silent where the Bible is silent, there would be no division.

As a Christian, that means that I strive to be with other like-minded Christians who believe as I do, who also strive to help others see Christ through our behavior and our attitudes. We don't argue among ourselves (no divisions), we praise Him openly even when going through trials and help others to understand who Jesus is (speak the same thing). We struggle to live as Jesus did, knowing we won't be perfect until He returns.

I believe that this is a clear warning against schisms. Imagine if you will if Christians throughout history concentrated their efforts on bringing the world to Jesus instead of fighting along denominational lines. Clearly St. Paul was writing to the Corinthian Church that they and all believers should be one catholic and apostolic church.

I'll apply this verse by sharing the holy name of the Lord
with my brothers and sisters and by following the following the Ten Commandments. If we all follow the Ten commandments, then we have no reason to fight and argue.

The way I will apply it is to make sure that I walk in agreement with my brothers and sister in Christ. If something should come up, I will do what I can to make better the situation, if it is a bad one.

I imagine Paul would have to rewrite this letter to countless churches if he were around today. If we all took his counsel and focused on unity many people would be saved the scares suffered by poor church experiences and back-biting Christians...

God says people will know we are Christians by our love. Christians should be united in faith and love. Not mere reflectors of other men, but reflectors of Jesus Christ!

I won't. It has no bearing on my life whatsoever. It was written over 2000 years ago and nobody talks like that anymore. Beseech? When's the last time you beseeched anyone? I don't apply things to my life that aren't useful.
