Fruit is the best snack for any child. Sliced apples, bananas, peaches, mango, canteloupe, strawberries, grapes, berries, etc. If you dont have time to cut up lots of fruit, you can buy big bowls of it already cut at Costco. You can also buy several fruits at the beginning of the week, cut them and put them in a bowl so you have a ready snack whenever your son is hungry.
Kids love cheese. cheese slices and cubes are very filling and go great with fruit and crackers.
Whole wheat crackers, graham crackers, and rice cakes are also good snacks.
Fruit snacks have artifical colors and sugar, gold fish is very high in sodium. Both should be given very infrequently.

My daughter loved crackers and cheese. Finger foods are a great choice. Fruit snacks are good. All of the things you wrote are good choices. Just try to stay away from foods high in sugar.

My daughter is 18 months and she pretty much eats whatever my 4 year old and I eat. One on our recent favorites lately has been with our "snow" machine. I picked it up at WalMart for like $20. It makes slushy snow. I pour a little orange juice over it and mix in grapes, strawberry's and/or watermelon. The kids love the "snow" treat and it's just that much more water and fruit. We also love graham crackers for a quick sweet treat. The other not so healthy that my daughters love is bologna and cheese rolled up and sliced...like little pinwheels.

I would do fresh fruit (apples, bananas, plums, etc) and veggies cut in small pieces.
Plain yogurt and cottage cheese will work as well. Homemade ice cream or frozen yogurt.
Try to avoid giving a small child snacks with a lot of sugar and sodium.
There are many problems associated with giving small child processed foods such as goldfish.
You will be happy you did this, when you take him to the dentist.
Hope this helps :)

How about jello with fruit or whipped cream. You can also give him soft fruits like pear or peaches or banana. If he is not allergic to nuts then how about a half a pb&J? My daughter loves that with a little fruit on the side.

All of the mentioned snacks are good. My son, who just turned 2 last month, also enjoys raisins, dry cereal, yogurt, granola bars, teddy grahams, etc.
