If you are a visitor or new resident in the UK then you can driver on your Indian Licence for upto 12 months from the date you enter the country.
In that time you will need to apply for a UK provisional licence and take a theroy and practical test in the UK.
To apply you will need a D1 application form from any post office, passport photo, passport and £45.

Yes you will need to take a test. driving in the UK will be a lot easier as there aren't so many cows on the roads.
