my computer says that it needs a file system 32/hal has been deleted or missing then it says to add windows again, its a emachines 400ix, thanks

Other than contacting Emachines to get a recovery disk or finding the recovery disk that came with the emachine that u have, you may be out of luck on this forum. Im sure if anyone told u where to get one from outside of buying it from the store again, they'ed be in trouble.

Use your legal Windows CD to do a clean install.
Not legal, buy one.

u cant download a os it cost money u have to buy one at a pc store or windows.com
